I actually think the officiating was biased towards us this game to make up for last game. We got way more calls and the ticky tack fouls Utah always commits were called. I noticed Boozer got fouled a few times by Hayes and Battier. I'm fine with that because they do it to Tracy

I don't think its a coincedence that the fouling machine that is the Utah Jazz lost when the refs decided to call all fouls.

Everybody played and shot great though. So, I wouldn't credit the good calls for the blowout win though. The Houston Rockets administered a complete massacre.

Jazz were a couple fouls below their series average this game, as were the Rockets.

Big difference was the lack of flopping calls. There were still a lot of bogus calls that favored the Jazz(didnt remember any favoring the Rockets, save the block by Okur that was his cleanest block of the night that Scola drew the foul on).

Rockets were called for 18 fouls, Jazz for 17.

I know it's not always the foul count, its the manner in which they are called. The moving pick on Boozer was a proper call, but it had been let go all game, and series for that matter, so why call it there, when the Rockets were on a run?

I actually thought the Rockets were called for a foul on less contact than the Jazz, but there werent as many egregious fouls not called on Utah.

um no, tmac should have gotten 10fts AT LEAST tonight and he only got 2.

he's the superstar in this series. he needs to get calls. it's unacceptable that he only got 2 tonight when he got fouled blatantly many times.

True. McGrady still didn't get any calls. I don't think that will ever change, no matter who the ref is.

but it shocked me after adelman AND tmac talked about the lack of calls b/t the games.

they may not consider him a superstar, but a foul is a foul. call the damn fouls.

They finally looked at the tape and made the correction for this game. Let the player decide the outcome.

This series has and will be decided by the refs, simple as that. I am terrified of game 6, game 4 in Salt Lake was absolutley atrocious. I can only pray, we get more makeup calls for rediculous flops called against us in the previous games.

the only reason why you are saying the officiating was great was because the Rockets won....the whole time during the game (even late in the 4th), i was getting so frustrated with the officials about the horrible calls that they were making....this game was a real badlyofficiated game. If the officials are going to bring their C-game to Game 6, there is no chance that we will win.

The fact is they shot more FTs than we did.

thats the comment thats on the money. the refs determine how the game is played, and this time they cut out the grabbing cheating pushing garbage, and when it comes down to basketball, we have twice the heart and determination of this Jazz team. Deron and Boozer are alright, but, honestly, the rest of this team makes my stomach hurt.

Yet we were very much as aggressive as the Jazz. Thought the fouls go to the aggressor, but apparently that only works for the 29 other teams in the league.

    Great game for the officials.

Physical game, but it was called pretty evenly.

Let it go and you'll be alot happier.

They called a fair game and if anything more calls went our way. It seems like we're the target of bad officiating this game because of the crowd. By the way, great job tonight everyone...Crowd was amazing.

One thing still bothers me though...If Bill, Clyde, and Matt know AK is flopping and the entire city of Houston knows AK is flopping, HOW come the officials fall for it EVERY time?

The Jazz really force the refs to make a quick decision by flailing their arms around and whiplashing their entire upper body. Sometimes it's just instinct I guess.

T-Mac didn't get many foul shots because he only drove to the basket, what, 4 times? He had a great game but 90% of his points were from iso jump shots and screen jump shots. He just was nailing most of them.

I agree though, the times he did go to the basket those 4-5 times he got mugged and fouls should have been called.

This was the best officiated game so far. The Jazz got away with murder in games 1-4. It wasnt perfect but they did a good job of cleaning it up a bit.

i believe this was during the first quarter, you guys remember when t-mac drove to the rack but got double teamed? he passed out to deke who was underneath the basket for a dunk... from where we were sitting err standing, deke was clearly out of bounce and the ref was right there looking at it... so i think both teams had it's share of "getting screwed by the refs"
