I don't see it for this team the defense/oline has taken a major step back since 2011. The pass rush outside of Watt and our secondary play is a big concern on the defense. The oline was not good especially down the stretch and that with Schaub's inconsistent play isn't adding up to a title in my eyes.
It's funny, my feeling is just the opposite. I want to play the Patriots in the playoffs again. It would be more satisfying getting a win over them than any of the other AFC contenders.
THIS. Really pulling for him, and he's been really good so far and he should have a spot on the 53 man roster.
I want that win over the Patriots too. But I'd be lying if I said I want to face them. Sometimes, it's just about matchups. The Patriots could be the Seattle Sonics of this era for us, a team that we just can't beat.
You feel the opposite? As in, you think we have a better chance to get to the Superbowl if we play New England? I'd rather win the Superbowl than beat New England. Michael Jordan's retirement and the 1994 Seattle Sonics getting punked by the Nuggets doesn't stop me from enjoying that title to the fullest.
I really think Luck will explode this year. Saying that, this defense is too good. There O-Line is pretty meh as well.
I think the fact that Kubiak played that prank on him is telling. Kids making the team, and has shown he can get pressure on the qb against the 1's.
I'm pulling for him too because his last couple of trips to Reliant haven't ended well for him... Spoiler
I'll take any path to the Super Bowl. But if you give me the choice I would want to face the Patriots. They've been the best team over the last decade or so. If you want to be the best don't you want to beat the best?
you're likely not to be disappointed this season then. with that said, i'll still cherish every win and will be rooting my ass off.
If the Patriots get eliminated before they meet us, doesn't that mean they weren't the best? Match-ups are important. Nobody is 100% immune to every team, style, and system.
Partly luck, mostly skill. If DEN wins, everybody still knows Harbaugh is a great coach and Flacco still had a very good postseason. Kubiak and Co have plenty to prove.
I'm not ready to say they are going to the Superbowl (it's a long year and anything can happen) but I'll bet no one was predicting Baltimore at this time last year. Of course we still have our issues but so does every other team in the NFL. Personally, I think we've improved in the following areas: FB – Jones > Casey RB 2 – (healthy) Tate > Forsett WR 2 – Hopkins > Walter ILB – (healthy) Cushing/Mays > James/Rudd (LOL) S – Reed (if healthy…….) > Quin P – Lechler > Jones
