There is always some type of reasoning involved in all management decisions. There are typically trade-offs. Maybe the reason the rocks didn't pull the trigger on the trade for Taylor was the same reason for not doing the deal for Rice. That is, too much money in the future. CD and RT do make the evaluations, but do you not think that every decision that involves money or future money has to have the blessing of Les? How many of you have spent your boss's money without making sure he was in agreement. In all the talk about acquiring a PF and/or center, you are ignoring either Cato or Rogers. Many people will point out the deficiencies of both these guys, as has been done a lot in past postings. I think both of these guys have a fire, and if given time to develop will be outstanding players. Also, I can't believe people still want Rider to come to the Rockets. It is very difficult to change a person's basic personality. That is what is so special about Stevie. He has special natural ability, but if you combine that with an attitude that if he doesn't do well that it is his fault and he will work harder to improve, you have the makings of a truly, truly special player. Give this team a chance to learn and grow.
The Rockets got him without even doing a trade. It is good that they got him at a bargain price. It is also a bad sign that someone with so much "potential" could be had for the taking. Marked down merchandise is marked down for a reason. Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. Use clear wording for new threads 3. No duplicate threads 4.
