Well, let's just trade the whole team then. Last time I checked, football was a team sport. Who do you think we can get for AJ? That's because he's double covered most of the time. Who else is he supposed to throw to, Cory Bradford? Plus AJ was hurt half the season last year, remember? I guess he could have still thrown to AJ in street clothes on the sidelines, but it would just be called out of bounds even if he caught it. I'd rather he take a sack than force a throw into double coverage to a receiver who can't seem to get open or catch. Most of the time, he was on his back before the receiver even finished his route. I know, I know...that's all his fault.
David Carr is never gonna pan out to be #1 pick worthy. He's got a good arm and adequite legs, but he doesn't seem to see the field well. There has been a lot of noise in this forum about wanting the local guy. Well I sorta trust the local guy we already have signed on, Gary Kubiak. I think Gary knows QB's and he has some insight on how to fix some of Captain Hairdo's more glaring problems. I don't think Carr is gonna be all pro, and he isn't a natural leader (hense the Anti-Carr faction among Texans players.) And he is probably more concerned with being a wholesome Christian family man than he is with being the best NFL QB he possibly can. All that said. I think with a good offensive line and a weapon like Reggie Bush and a couple recieving targets beyond AJ who aren't named Bradford or Gaffney, David Carr can take us to the Superbowl faster than VY can take us with the same weapons minus Bush.
I am starting to feel bad for Carr if they pass on VY. Carr is going to be in a pretty unfair position. They better improve a loooot next year or its going to be ugly.
If Carr has all the weapons including Bush next year and flops the Texans will be looking for a new QB and Carr will be one of those #1 picks that never lived up to the hype. I hope he makes it because he's been in a no win situation with a bad system and with no protection. He's probably got post traumatic syndrome after all the hard hits he's taken.
