Who da Hell cares if he become an All-Star in NBDA or in the league in which Jorda thinks he should be playing, the WNBA.
I would rather make a run a Dunleavy in GS. He has been playing PG lately and, from what I've seen, has played it pretty well. I think he would fit nicely in our system. He is tall, good passer (height also allows for good entry passes to Yao), can drain the open shot even at the 3pt line, and he has real bball smarts. GS has really made a run since he moved to the 1 and I think he could help this team out just as well.
Not to mention he can move to SG or SF at any time to change up the lineup during the game and help with certain matchups vs. the other team.
Arenas can never be moved to SF. This is absolutely crazy. Name one thing that Arenas does better than Francis.
I think Kwame Brown is a decent player who may eventually become a consistently solid pro, but he'll never be an all-star. And those "terrific post moves" you refer to, I've never seen. That's why the Jermaine O'Neal comparisons don't work for me.
My bad, but I still disagree. Dunleavy has been horriffic at the point, look at his numbers during the stretch where Claxton and NVE are out. He's too slow to play SG, and doesn't have the strength to make up for it. His height is an advantage, but his shooting MUST improve to take advantage of that. I think he can be very good, but he's not there yet. He needs to hit the weight room and works harder on his shot, since it's not as good as advertised (although very serviceable).
No! I've never liked the guy even when he was with the Warriors. He is just another over-hypered player.
Gilbert is a better defender, and he is also a better shooter (especially) from 3 point land. He will take it all the way to the hole after he beats his man...and he wont not take open shots. Gilbert is a little bigger than steve and younger. My main thing with gilbert is his attitude problem. Which can be a huge problem. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder from being a 2nd round pick. Ive seen gilbert play a lot cause Im from LA and so is he and I followed him when he was at Arizona and I think he has the potential to be as good as steve if not better. Overall he just has a better understanding of basketball while steve is atheletic but has very little basketball IQ (maybe cause he really dint play in HS). Gilbert is no slouch athletically. The more I think about it...the more id love to send Francis to Washington for Areanas...hell even straight up...though i think steves value could warrant kwame In the past few weeks ive been increasingly frustrated by steve beating his man off the dribble only to throw some stupid hook pass out to the line...Tae tha ball all the way to the hole!!! Dont double clutch...jsut go straight in get fouled or score. Dammit!!! And starting shooting the damn ball everyone is just backing off steve now. teams arent looking at him as a scoring threat. and his shot is putrid. He is shooting with his arms...If you watch he takes these shots where he gets up in the air and leans hhies arms andhands forward and kind of just pushes it to the rim. I dont remember him doing this in years past...but sometimes gotta change. Also besides his awesome stop on a dime crossover, gilbert is probably a better dribbler...Steve actually does all kinds of travels and double dribbles that dont get called. I think steve in years past was better than arenas, but this year arenas is better. Arenas is a very good all around player and was a go-to guy on a Golden State team that overachieved last year. I think Washington was a bad choice for him to go to, but still he had a good year statistically when he was healthy.
Shawndme7[/]b just curious. You layed out areasonable argument why Areans is better than Franics. Then you went on to say Do you not believe whjat you just wrote? Do you think you're right but the Wizards staff is too stupid to see it? Again if you believe what you wrote why would Washington trade Arenas for Francis let alone throw Kwame into the deal?
What I mean is I think around the league (though Im not sure because Im not a GM) Francis has more value in a trade. He can probably fill more seats than arenas and he is a marquee name. And Im sure some GM is probably enamored with him and just thinks he is playing in the wrong system in houston. I mean look at all the people on our esteemed board who think steve is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than arenas and that arenas is a scrub. I mean if steve is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than arenas, gilbert must really suck because steve sucks. Guys please dont argue that Gilbert plays on a bad team. That is like shooting yourself in the foot because steves 1st 3 years were with teams that werent that great. With that said I would love to get Kwama and Gilbert for steve, but we'd probably have to throw in at least 1 player Unless Washington is incredibly stupid. Unfortunatley for us MJ isnt running the team anymore.
P.S. Steves stats are good but if you look over the course of his 6year career, he has not gotten much better statistically or really improved in any tangible areas that I CAN SEE. (except the whole migraine thing) and that worries me more than anything else. I think im starting to turn into a ABS fan (anyone but steve). Thats the new category on this board forget YOF and SOF... Im the self appointed dictator of the ABS crew!
Gilbert is not bigger than Steve. They're about the same height but Steve has a bigger built than Gilbert. Gilbert is younger though.
