**** the bbs needs to be shutdown when the rockets lose. people will still b**** because its in their nature, but i just dont wanna see it. dont tell to not come to the bbs because i like arguing with b****ers.
do you even know what a fair-weather fan is? Anyone on this board right now isn't a fair-weather fan. At least we can all agree there. If we make it to the finals somehow, then you'll see what fair-weather fans are...
Yea, bbs needs to shutdown. People will calm down, continue their normal routine, listen to some stress relieving music and go to bed.
You are dreaming that we were winning because JVG coaching. It was TMac carrying the team on his shoulders. But unfortunately the other teams realized that and now they will double or tripple team him and let everybody else beat them. And they know the chances are zero.
People who jump aboard when the good times roll and jump off when a team hits a snag are fair weather. The overblown reactions after this loss leads me to believe that there are some on here. Come on man, trade T-Mac, fire jvg, trade Head/Battier? There's nothing wrong with criticizing a team, but those comments are overboard.
If you don't like arguing with b****ing fans wouldn't it be easier for you to skip the BBS than to expect all the b****ing fans too?
The Lakers have a worse record than we do. This means Phil Jackson is a ****ty coach because they have trouble winning with only Kobe. Right?
I kind of half expected this slump and look at it like the stock market correcting itself after an inflated bull market. Given the trading deadline is passed and Yao is at least 10 days away I hope that JVG extends the lineup and spells the starters some more. Sorry to bring up V-Span but while he has turnover problems and has problems shooting a jump shot he does bring energy and the Rox could use a lot of energy right now especially on D.
to be 13 games above 500 is a great thing considering Yao has been out and tmac out here and there. I would really like to know from the roxs when Yao will return. Right now our team is tired, later that could turn into an injured team...ie tmac's back flaring up or Battier getting hurt taking a charge etc. Yao makes the game so much easier for his teammates. The raptors had their way in the paint..abusing Jake, Deke, and Chuck. No rocket was able to make a 3 for their life and tmac was doubled all game long. Yao ming would clog up the middle of the paint and would draw a double team and he would either score or kick-out for an open 3. Role players won't be running ragged trying to create a shot that they are not able to create themselves, but will be energized playing their role..setting picks, rolling for easy shots or hitting wide open shots. I really would love to see Yao back. It is scary-good how the roxs have over achieved and it is scary to think what could happen if Yao comes back much later than early to mid-march.
Today he used 10 guys mainly (starters plus hayes, head, lucas, tsakalidis, and wells) Is 10 guys not enough? Even Lucas' rare appearance, if you take it out, it's still 9 players. I want to see Snyder some more but who would you rather have out on the floor? Snyder or Wells? You can't have both at the same time and if you split the minutes up neither gets enough playing time to make an impact. I know he's not very bench friendly, but today wasn't his fault. They just didn't miss in the first half and at the end of the game. The defense was there too, but it wasn't enough. Hope we can bounce back against the Nuggets.
This recent slump is screwing us over big time, it's not the end of the world or anything, but homecourt is slipping farther and farther away. Also, if we drop too many games, the Lakers will catch up and put pressure on us. We're still safely in the playoffs, and probably safely have 5 seed, but it's going to be tough taking away homecourt from Utah, if Yao gets back quick enough, we might be able to. The question is, do we need homecourt to beat Utah? They DO have one of the noisiest arenas...
If, when the playoffs arrive, the Rockets are at a level where they need homecourt advantage to beat Utah, then it's not like they'll have much of a shot at challenging Phoenix/Dallas anyway. That's why I don't think the homecourt thing is really all that important.
lmao at Texans "improving." (no offense to Texans fans) If you don't think that the Rockets have improved and/or made bold moves over the last 3 years, I am not sure what to tell you. Did you see what the team was like before Yao and T-Mac? Maybe you liked 6-3 guards running iso plays and winning 42 games per year. I'll stick with years of T-Mac and Yao, thanks.
I am quite worry about our players if they really realize the root cause of our recent failures or not. It is hard to criticize a player if he only lost his shooting touch during the game (sometime it was just bad luck) but if he was not hustling for a rebound, lost concentration on defence (which he has proven capable of in some other games), he is not getting his job done and he should be blame of. Recently, we often out-rebounded by opponents and giving up over 90 points a game (win or loss). These are bad signs that indicated how much we spent our effort on defence. And defence is the "strength" of our team, the key to our successes after Yao was out and before ASG. I disagree the idea that our players ran out of gas. If that's the case, they do not deserve to play in this league. Suns players are playing uptempo games all season long and they are still winning. We still have many games left this season, how can we sustain till the end and go deep into playoff if our players are already out of gas at this point of time? IMHO, our players are tired but probably mentally tired instead of physically tired. Mentally we are just not as tough as players in those elite teams such as Mavs, Suns and Spurs. We just lost "interests" to hustle in a game easily, and lost confidence easily, e.g their often miss their shoots simultaneously. A shallow rotation COULD BE part of the reason, they have taken it for granted playing heavy/significant minutes every games. They have forgot how hard to fight for a place to play on court during those days as a bench warmer. Think about the refreshment Juwan Howard brought to the games when he first logged in heavy minutes after Yao was out, and Kirk Snyder's performance after return from injury. When people praised our players over-acheived, I guess they were amazed that we have won some tough games against top tier teams such as Spurs, Utah and Lakers without Yao. But losing to teams like Hawks and Celtics are just inexcusable, we should have taken those games, with or without Yao. Our players have shown their talents, they are just not consistent. I just hope our coach would play Big Jake, Snyder and VSpan more. It doesn't mean immediate solution to the existing problem but at least we do not have to worry about these guys' eagerness and enthusiasm. Deke and Howard's minutes should be reduced, perhaps Battier's as well. These guys are so important for our playoff games and they need time and rest to get out of their slumps. Head is not ready to play PG so just let him play SG honestly. Sorry for this long-winded post and my poor English.
Per JA Windex: "JVG has done a great job this year and if these last few games have changed your mind, then you're about as fair weather as they come." I will stick with this team through the good and the bad as I have as a season ticket holder since '99......I am concerned about this team. We have enjoyed some great wins up until this losing period we are in now. Do not hyperventilate- I'm not blaming the coach- I support this coach. At the game last nite - I noticed we had 1 offensive reboujnd early in the 3rd Q That is not going to get it!!!!! My concern is not panic, nor does it make me a "fair weather fan"....I am still begging to upgrade my playof tickets and support this team even if we miss the playoffs or lose in the 1st round as a 8th seed or 7th seed against Dallas or Phoenix.... Right now I am a concerned fan.... __________________
