That's exactly why I brought it up !!!! If he wouldn't have been traded, he definetly would've ended his career with the Celtics. Now the Kings will waive him and we have a slight chance to get him. As I understand it, if the Celtics resign him Sam cannot play in the playoffs because he has to be on a team before 1 March and the Celtics have to wait 30 days.
they say the Kings will waive Cassell. http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/sports/kings/archives/019668.html What's more, the pick is heavily protected and I believe the Celtics won't get it if - as is expected - the Kings waive Cassell (Update: I'm told the Celtics would still get the pick, but it's conditional until 2015). I'm sure I'll be talking to Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie sometime today, but Boston GM Danny Ainge has confirmed the deal.
saw big shot bob yesterday, he looked in okay shape, similar to what hes looked like his last few years in the league.
Thanks for the info, so is it true that a player has to be on a team before the 1st of March in order to be eligible for the playoffs ?
I would pick Horry, since he can play defense and shoot 3's. Quite rare for a power forward and it spreads the floor. Cassell is washed up, can't shoot the ball well anymore. Horry would be my pick, but I can already tell you none of them are coming.
