But...but...Sam Cassell hit some big shots once!!!! And so did Tony Parker!!!

(of course, both were on a team with arguably the best player in the league at that point...i'm guessing if Cassell had been playing for the Bucks in 1994/5 and Parker had been playing for the Magic during the Spurs years, they might not be mentioned when talking about Brooks' potential)

Who else totally gave up while seeing Kobe on Brooks? Not a contest at all.

I don't expect Brooks to ever be close to the passer that Nash is. But as an aside, I do see similarities in his offensive scoring moves. Its clear to me that Brooks pays a lot of attention to Nash and has tried to emulate him. Notice the way he tries to sneak in those underhanded layups around defenders ... that's Nash's pet move around the basket and no one else does it. Brooks is confident in coming down the floor and shooting a three in transition if he's given room, like Nash. And yesterday, he attempted one of those running jump shots that Nash has perfected (in Brooks's case, it was a miss).

i agree with you. he's a shoot first guard. probably not starting material because of his lack of play making ability and size defensively.

however, there is a lot of overreacting going on in the forum. he's not a bust, he doesn't suck. he would make an excellent spark off the bench when the team needs a scoring boost.

people dont understand that he's being given too much responsibility too soon. lowry is more of a starting quality player, but he hasn't gone through adelmans training camp. he doesn't know the nuts and bolts of the system, and so for the rest of the year we will have aaron as the starter weather he deserves it or not. can't blame him though. i dont consider him a starting PG and therefor i'm not dissapointed in his progression as a player.

There is nothing we can do at this point when you only have two 6-0 PGs.

Brook is still very raw, he deserves a chance to learn with his potantials, that also is the reason why they picked him. But I agree, brooks wont be able to serve pg position well enough if rockets wants to go for champ in next few years. A major trade is needed after this seasen over. pg, sg need to be imporved if tmac cannot be old tmac again.

I can't predict anyone's future. I don't know what kind of player AB will be. All I know that he should be the No.1 choice PG on this team right now. If Rockets go wrong in the next 15 games or 1st round playoff, AB surely will be removed from starting line-up. But now, I believe in him.

When Rafer is here, we cried stop throwing those bricks. Ok, now we have AB giving us 3pts range and the ability to penetrate, we asked for assists and control. Fans looking for perfection are really sick. What kind of PG do we really want? We don't need 5 perfect players to win. I would like 1 perfect team which the weakness of PG will be covered by other 4 positions.

The first post was like reading a post about Tony Parker when he had just begun learning the NBA game.

Good point. Aaron's only been with us for a very short time. He's not only new to Rick, but new to the NBA, period. And he's young.

    Give him a little time.

I'm more worried about switches and picks that leave AB on a bigger player, I swear their eyes light up when they see AB guarding them. More often then not, I unfortunately see them scoring over AB also.

That's what people don't understand. The thinking about win now cost us a player a few yrs ago. Now the rox are trying to modify on the run. Wafer will make mistakes, Brooks will make mistake, Landry will make mistakes, hell. yao, barry and battier will make them. Why is it hard for people to understand this?

So, who then? Lowry? You want us to start Lowry? AB is unproven, yet you think Lowry is a better option? Not Lowry? Who? Do tell.

The Rockets FO sent us all an email when they made a move at PG. The email reads...

"This is not a serious push at the playoffs"

    I get it,

Rocket should just TANK, we are gonna win anything anyway this season.

Let young develop and learn from mistakes, it may turn out another parker or better, nash.

For someone trying to appear smart, you sure defeat your own purpose. Sarcasm much? 'nuff said. Rookie.
