Response I like Rubio. He's a great passer, but I also see his limitation in scoring. I can see Lin catching up and equaling Rubio in the passing skill and passing him in scoring skills. You have to remember that the "smoothness" that Rubio possesses at least in passing is due to his having played European basketball from a very early age. Not sure, but I think Lin has a higher upside.
Yeah I have to agree. I like Ricky a lot. But the timberwolves offense ran better with Ricky off the floor than on it. His impact on the wolves was on the defensive end. Both are really good passers, turnover prone and both are disruptive defensively. Lin has the edge in scoring. Both have also been injured lol. They are identical in a lot of ways. Only time will tell who develops into the better player. If Lin gets his scoring touch back to how it was in NY & Rubio's scoring doesn't improve then the edge has to go for now to Lin.
Did you know Morey wanted to trade half our team for Rubio during Adelman? There was one draft day a couple of years ago when Morey summoned Adelman and told him he was going to trade a chunk of his roster for a dazzling European point guard named Ricky Rubio. "He could help us win a championship someday," Morey told him, "but we might win 20 games next season." Adelman was stunned. "Are you trying to get me fired?" he asked. http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets/article/Justice-Rockets-Adelman-politely-go-separate-1686888.php
Rubio is my favorite PG, Lin up there too. Lin does have some Rubio traits, he controls the game tempo very well, and is masterful in the PnR. Rubio's PnR uses better angled bounce passes, while Lin uses it to penetrate and dish. Rubio's vision is elite, with Lin the more capable scorer. I think Rubio's game will last longer in the NBA due to his non-physical type of play, similar to Jason Kidd. The acl tear was a freak injury(Kobe is the devil.)
Well, let's look at the tape because they both played each other last season. Feb 11, 2012. Knicks at Wolves. Lin - 20 pts, 8 asts, 6 rbs, 3 stls, 0 blks Rubio - 12 pts, 8 asts, 2 rbs, 3 stls, 1 blks So from a numbers standpoint, Lin outplayed Rubio. I don't know where you get this "Rubio is 10x superior to Lin" thing from. Just admit that you absolutely hate Lin and save us all some time. PS. Lin also played without Amare and Carmelo in this game. That's like Rubio playing without Love.
