This team is not going anywhere, it is not a championship contender, it is built to win some games in the regular season, but once the playoffs start it will struggle to get past the 2nd round. We don't have elite level shooters, we don't play elite defense, our rebounding is suspect and our 2 best players are great individuals but flawed teamates. So, let's just enjoy the regular season, and the 55 wins - and then hope that a miracle is around in the playoffs. DD
New formula for stopping Rockets...shut down Westbrook penetration and let Harden and company brick you out of the game from 3 point land. 0 for 27 anybody?
A team built around Harden and Westbrook can easily win a championship. It just hurts when the biggest obstacles ahead of you are your owner and head coach
Im gonna revisit this thread after the Clippers game. I say we win....but even if we lose, Ill still come back to tell you this thread sucks.
None of the playoff teams in the West are built like the Knicks. We're fine. This was just an absolutely awful matchup (outrebounded by a hilarious 31) and we still only lost by 2.
Never ever ever should have been down by 22 to this terrible squad and we struggled against them the first game but won comfortably ... may be a bad match up but I don’t see this team winning many playoff games once the game becomes more physical with All our brick layers in full bloom and you know they will be its who we are .... with the massive disparity in rebounding if the Knicks has better players we would have been smoked badly !
Good teams lose, its not impossible people. Grizzlies defeated the Lakers 105-88 just this saturday? I not just gonna knock them down because a last 2nd shot, they still had the ability to get back in this with the knicks. Dakota its easy to be let down by your team on bad nights but they been playing great lately whats the big deal? Rockets all the way baby!
The defense against Boston wasn't bad. I agree we will struggle against teams that will kill us on rebounding like tonight. It takes a lot of energy to play from behind. But even tonight, we almost edged out in the end. I see a lot of Grit and not quitting - mostly attributed to Westbrook. So who knows ... I am more interested to see us rally behind Russ's drive in the playoffs.
We lose to teams we overlook (Knicks, Suns). That won't happen in the playoffs. P.S. Thanks for the anti-jinx thread, DD.
Meh I think it was an off night off a tough week, rockets were looking past the Knicks and looking forward to LAC game and chilled and woke up late thats all. No need to cry and overreact
Utah has been more physical than the Rockets and yet can't beat us in a playoff series. The only team we've lost to recently are the Warriors, mainly because they had superior talent and our math just didn't give us enough of an edge to win a 7 game series.
I agree this was a good lesson to learn early. The Team needed to play at a slower pace in the first half until they got control of the game and then up the pace. Really they did not control the tempo until the second half. The Rox will get beat if they dont control that by any team. This was also a game that others outside of Russ needed to get to the basket a little more on the dribble but mostly off the dribble. Everybody needs to move their bodies to keep teams spread out not just relying on Russ every play to attack. In the Playoffs they will have to manage this because this will decide the game
We lacked heart this game How does Jeff Green play 12 mins and not get 1 single rebound? Harden played 39 mins and got 2 boards Despite how bad we played, we just need a couple more defensive boards and we would have won (Knicks had 20 offensive boards!) We will get them next time but we gave this one away
Well I would say any opponent with long wingspan & better overall atheletism would be a big challenge for this microball Rockets. Bucks may be the only one out there. But tonight Knicks + extra energy + shooting lights off were the poor man's Bucks.
Let’s be honest all you do is whine and cry. Where we’re you just in the last few games but like a miserable sap that you are you pop out of nowhere after a loss.
