    we shouldn't have not fired McHale :mad: it wasn't his fault at all. we lost Prigioni and J Smoove this offseason. I'm starting to think Daryl is making bad decisions :confused:

    There was nothing to suggest the Rockets would start this season as one of the worst teams in the league, but there was a clear sign that the Rockets weren't as good as "Western Conference finalists." The fact that they were one quarter away from being blown out and losing in the second round quite emphatically.

    I wouldn't call it luck, but those final five quarters where they overperformed gave us the unrealistic expectations that the team was one of the very best teams in basketball. Consider how you'd have felt about the Rockets if they had just played the Clippers evenly in that fateful final quarter and lost. Good team, got to the second round, but a tier below the elite teams in the conference.

    With that set of expectations, this start would still have been extremely disappointing, especially with Lawson added, but not so much "championship contender looking like one of the worst."

    It seems firing Mchale isn't enough to make a big change, then losing to 76ers may be the trigger...

    I would rather lose to 76ers than barely beat a team dedicated tanking
