its not the fact that we lost. its how we lost. no sane person expected us to sweep the Jazz, but cmon...
Completely concur with this. This team had better wake the eff up before they find themselves OUT of the postseason. I want to see at least ONE good game from these guys. Geez..
I agree its not time to panic. We gotta hang in there and play with desperation but the series is far from over. I feel for all of the fans who feel this thing is hopeless. The Rockets played like crap this series, even the games we won, the Jazz just played crappier. We now know what its going to take to win this series and we just gotta execute.
Really??? Yeah we didn't shoot well...but other than that the Rockets played good defense and didn't make critical errors. I don't recall seeing the Rockets down by 20 in game 1 or game 2 either. If we had come out of Utah 3-1 instead of 2-2 no one would remember game 1 or 2. The Jazz are a good team, especially at home. I am not surprised at all that it's 2-2, and I could care less how it happened. Yeah the Rockets have to play better to win in game 5, but that would be the case even if the games in Utah had been down-to-the-wire. People would still be crying about how our whole team sucks. Basically, way too many people b**** after a loss. There are gonna be ebbs and flows. The Rockets have never had it easy in the playoffs against good teams even when they win the series (save for Orlando in '95). Most people predicted this would be the one series that would almost certainly go 7 games, and there is a reason for that.
we do what we are supposed to do - win at home they do the same then we will win a 4-3 yes, dont panic now, we still have chances to win the series
Alot of people think its over for us, but there has been alot of series where the home team won every game in a playoff series and if that happens in this one then we will be the winner
I'm not panicking, but I am concerned. If you told me before the series started that we'd be 2-2 going into Game 5, I wouldn't have been surprised. But if you'd told me that we'd be going into Game 5 averaging 83.5 points per game through the first four games, that T-Mac would have poor shooting nights in all four games with the likes of Fisher and Giricek guarding him, that Luther Head and Juwan Howard would have shooting percentages hovering in the teens, and that we were clearly being outhustled at both ends of the floor, I would've wondered how in the hell we were tied 2-2 to begin with. Can we bounce back and win Game 5? Of course. We're a good(albeit not great) home team. The Jazz have been terrible on the road since mid-March. Although it's worth noting that the only meaningful game Utah won on the road in the last month and a half just happened to be at Toyota Center. But I'll echo what Van Gundy said in his postgame remarks last night. A change in venue is not going to magically fix everything. This team is playing like utter crap right now. It's not just the missed shots. It's the lazy, telegraphed passes. It's the lack of hustle. It's the image of Yao struggling and T-Mac looking like he'd rather be someplace else. These are problems that don't go away just because you're in front of your home fans.
Yeah, if we're expecting home court to change the series back in our favor, you're mistaken. The Jazz played good enough to win in Houston, and could very well do it, especially if we continue to shoot the way we are. If we continue to play like we have, we deserve to lose this series, but we will need to take a critical look at our franchise, from top to bottom.
the saddest thing when watching the rockets is T-Mac. its his effort. he cant take derek fisher to the hole? right before halftime was pathetic. i'm not surprised we lost, but watching t-mac play, we deserve to lose, not only this game but this series if he doesnt break a sweat soon. could he stop dribbling into a trap and picking up the ball with no idea what to do next. yao - lone bright spot on offense t-mac - too cool to sweat or even try rafer - all of a sudden is turnover prone chuck - still hustling battier - cant make the corner 3 anymore juwon - totally lost confidence in his mid-range for the whole series so far luther - totally lost confidence in his 3 for the whole series so far mutumbo - 'nuff said.
I don't think it's a panic thing. For most of us we're just upset at seeing the lackadaisical play by the Rockets these past couple of games. That is all.
ya i cant see us winning game 6 if we lose game 5, the team will be emotionally drained and believe me it would show.
We have not lead after halftime this series so how are we not supposed to be panicked. This is really starting to piss me off what happened to us getting on top of teams in the first half. I know Utah is playing great D but more then anything we have lost our confidence as a team. Hopefully the home crowd can do somethng to turn that around.
Even if we lose tomorrow, I'll still completely believe that we'll win games 6 and 7. The Rockets are the only Houston franchise that has ever given us a legitimate reason to be truly proud in the sports world, and as thanks I'll always believe in them. That's why I'm a fan.
You know after game 3 I 100% agreed, but I wasn't able to watch that game on TV. Watching game 4 on TV really pissed me off. Let me explain something, people shouldn't complain about anything other than desire. TMac looks like he doesnt care, I am sorry but if he looks like that then the rest of the team is gonna follow suit and have. TMAC WAKE THE F*** UP. YOU NEED TO TAKE THIS SERIES INTO YOUR HANDS. Are you seriously telling me that settling for jumpshots is > DRIVING VS. FISHER, A GUY THAT YOU HAVE 6 INCHES + QUICKNESS ON? GIVE ME A BREAK. Man I am not saying I can coach the Rockets better than JVG, but I would like to coach TMac just for 1 day, and tell him, drive the damn ball EVERYTIME. I don't care if you turn it over 20 times and foul out because of offensive fouls, or if you get injured again. You should be able to get to the line 20+ times a game vs. the Jazz's D. Its really a joke that JVG has not told him this or that he hasn't listened. This seems too obvious, TMac is too talented to settle for jumpers, unless he honestly doesn't care.
