The injury could have happened in practice, or even this summer. Regardless of him being benched or not, he would have been playing alot of basketball either way.

True. But the more you play, the more risk you are exposed.

We had NOTHING to gain yesterday. Jazz had EVERYTHING to loss. They were bound to play hard and physical. What is point to confronting a hurt desperate animal for NOTHING?

I'm from out of town. So I didn't see the game or local news. How bad is the foot injury? I'm worried. Foot injuries can be career inpacting. Especially for big men? Please report.

All you guys preaching not to tank will be  when one team in the 5-7 range ends up with a top 3 pick and we end up with 10th or 12th.

The brunt of your argument in this thread was that if Yao kept playing, he would lose confidence in himself and stop thinking he was a great player. Injury was an afterthought.

It was a stupid theory then, it is a stupid theory now.

If it makes you feel better about yourself, though, Yao got hurt and if he wasn't playing it wouldn't have happened. Or, he would have slipped in the tub. Hell, I don't know. Since you seem to want so much to think you are Ms. Cleo, I hope you are thrilled to death. You are certainly acting like it.

Beyond that, you aren't anymore right now than when you started this thread. But hey, enjoy yourself and keep trying to create some false glory, personally attacking a few posters while you do it. Knock yourself out.

You go for a car race and have an accident then you say, hey, it could have happened when I drive home from a normal work day.

This is the logic of many people here. I just can't agree with it.

The more exhausted a player is, the more likely it is for him to get an injury. If you've played competitive sports you would know. Yao's been very tired down the stretch. And he did get a bump when playing SAC. So why the hell put him out there for the unecessary risk! The last 2 years Rocket's management was really a mess. Nothing was right except getting TMAC.

What is your point? I never said either way about the injury angle of it...though it is simple fact that if he wasn't out there he wouldn't have been injured.

At the same time, this is what the guys do for a living. For them, it is a 'normal day'. So the what if game is pointless. The idea of pulling your star player out for a long stretch of time for no real reason in the NBA isn't exactly that simple.

As far as exhaustion...Yao had been playing better, and with more energy, than he had in any previous year. And he did not play for a long stretch of time. So the 'tired' angle doesn't really work.

I think a lot of you guys could have applied the job to coach the CNT in the cold war era. They had the same belief: the more you drill, the better you become. That is exactly what you guys have been preaching.

These meaningless games are nothing more than drills to us. These meaningless games are no more important than the commercial matchs CNT forced Yao to play in summers.

You guys blame CNT, while you do the same to Yao, your franchise player?
