I'm going to apologize in advance for using the words of another poster as a response but given your posting history I suspect this poster is foremost in your mind when you mention liberals. Also while I've recently been annoyed by this poster and what I consider to be occasionally belligerant style I will give him lots of credit for a very classy, and I mean that, post in another thread that addresses this thread directly. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=3876170&postcount=6
I'm glad monitor screens aren't made of glass anymore because this glass house was shattered before it was built
This election is some serious *****. Big money and bad ideas pulled no punches in the last two elections and got this country in to a heap. The ground rules were set in 2000. Sound the El Degüello baby cause this is a deathmatch. I don't personally support any of this, and I feel sorta sorry for the rubes, but I will be, in the privacy of my own home, laughing my ass off, because you just couldn't make this ***** up.
There is so much wrong with almost everything basso has posted in this thread. Many of the attacks against Palin were called out by liberal posters, myself included. I have yet to see how any of these attacks were actually sexist. basso has yet to show the racism coming from the Democratic party yet still makes the charge. The list is far too long. This is a horrible thread(and could have been a post in one of the other Palin threads) with horrible follow ups by the OP
I'll say it for the 100th time - nobody is attacking Palin's family or her role as a mother. What is problematic is the incredible, documented lapse in judgment by team McCain, which was caught pants down by these eruptions and blindsdied by (I can't even rmemeber them all, but let's recount) 1. pregnancy, 2. secessionism 3. bridge to nowhere reversal 4. earmarking 5. Trooper invetigation intensifying. They didn't even have a stock story for this stufff till late last night. That's what happens when you don't do your homework - you are unprepared when the test comes. As for Palin - she'll stand and fall on her own merits - which from where I sit are pretty bad. She appears to have a hardcore wingnut approach to pretty much everything, a Focus on the Family approach to social issues, which, in this day and age, is not a great thing. I don't think she has enough to overcome it either. Now, one can blame the press, which is the standard right wing PLAINTIVE WAIL but as Barack Obama can tell you, the press will jump on every little thing so when you play with fire you risk burning. Quite simply, as far as VP selection goes, best to go with a known commodity. Had Joltin Joe Lieberman been appointed, we would't be having this conversation - but McCain opted otherwise. As for McCain - the verdict on this selection is in, and as far as the rollout goes, the answer is a great big glass of FAIL. This type of bumbling does NOT bespeak confidence in his future as an executive.
What an idiot..................no one said they were going to use that as a reasoning why I would or would not switch...........nice reach, but you failed miserably.......
Remember TJ, if it ain't on video or tape, it didn't happen because McCain would never crack jokes about Chelsea Clinton or call his wife a c*nt.
McCain CHEATED on his first wife....the repubs murdered Clinton about it, but now that it is their boy....the silence is deafening. DD
You posted this: The idiot is the one who posts that the classless attacks might give them cause to re-consider a choice and then say that I am reaching in being concerned for anyone possibly factoring it.
Um.......It was the bloggers on the left that support Obama that made McCain and Palin issue a statement about their daughter to begin with. Had they not issued a statement, the left would've chastised them as many on this board were about to do by saying "it must be true" since they aren't responding, much like how John Edwards didn't respond to the rumors about him for over a year. McCain and Palin HAD to come out and give a statement which, they addressed immediately.
I do think it's ironic that basso and TJ say you can't attack Palin because she's a woman, but it's ok for them to attack a potential first lady (Michelle Obama). I guess it's ok to attack liberals because they are less than conservatives, but to attack conservatives isn't decent. Well, what can you say?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a withdrawal. Then McCain picks someone like LIEberman or Ridge, either of which is more to his taste, anyway (especially Joe), and then blames the pick on the "horrible personal assaults by the far left of the Democratic Party," or something equally rediculous. He gets "The Base" behind him for the "heroic Palin pick," and reaches towards the middle with a pro-choice, semi-sane VP (yes, while I can't stand LIEberman and he is NO Democrat, he is worlds above Palin as a VP choice) and gets what he wanted in the first place. Question... does it work for McCain?
i doubt it would work. mccain would get gutted for a "poor decision" i dont understand this thread though. i dont really think homegirl is getting it that bad. she came out of nowhere and was being investigated for something she did before she was even nominated. and then they had to release info about her daughter because of a stupid rumor. like i said i dont really understand this thread. such is life
She'll be fine... http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2008/09/kristol_on_sarah_palin_hockey.asp Kristol on Sarah Palin, Hockey Mom McCain aides whose judgment I trust are impressed by Sarah Palin. One was particularly amused by this exchange: A nervous young McCain staffer took it upon himself to explain to Palin the facts of life in a national campaign, the intense scrutiny she'd be under from the media, the viciousness of the assault that she'd be facing, etc.: Palin: "Thanks for the warning. By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull?" McCain aide: "No, Governor." Palin: "A hockey mom wears lipstick." one wonders what he was really so impressed by the more you hear her harp on family you have to believe that the troopergate allegations are true
I hope TJ and basso will finally stop crying. Now, all of a sudden, you won’t to stick to issues. This is after 2 years and hundreds of your frivolous post about Obama, where you refused too do so yourself. Politics is about spin, and the republicans have mastered that. I see republicans’ are trying to make this about sexism to turn it into their advantage, but we won’t fall for that this time.
