I Agree with you and looks like she's ready to take it on. However, to be fair, you don't see ABC, CBS, NBC, or the rest of the media outlets other than Fox talking about those issuses.
rezko, ayers, wright are legitimate issues (not the muslim thing in my opinion). Palin's family is not. and to be fair, none of the above issues generated anything like the feeding frenzy that the palin pick has. if they had, i doubt very seriously Obama would be heading the ticket today.
I could not agree more with this -- please reread at least the quoted part, basso. You are very frustrated, and I don't blame you. Seriously, if the political grind is upsetting you this much, turn off the TV, take some time away from D&D here (and the computer in general), and enjoy New York in September (you lucky sumbish!) with your family and friends. Cheers.
You're party is reaping what it's sown. I'm actually impressed at how effective the Democrats are becoming at the games the Republicans have parlayed into two Bush terms. Maybe after 8 years of Obama the Republicans will have learned their lesson and will start campaigning on the issues instead of character assassination.
What Palin issues do you consider legitimate? AIP? Abuse of power? Creationism in schools? Climate change not influenced by humans? Hiring an Abramoff lobbyist? Advocating book banning? Her command experience as head of the Alaskan National Guard? Her resume enhancing? The power of the religious right in forcing a VP pick down mCcain's throat? The inability of McCain to stand up to people like Dobson when making a VP pick? The weak vetting? The incompetence of the campaign in managing these questions? Get off your high horse and quit pretending you are some virtuous defender of female honor. Your first line in the original post is particularly odious since it's clear by your posts relating to individual liberties and torture and others questioning the patriotism of fellow Americans that you would have been a big supporter of McCarthy.
What basso is intentionally not understanding is that kooky, underqualified, hard right wing nut Palin does not reflect so poorly on herself (the poor dear probably doesn't know any better) but on McCain - for an ill-advised, ill-planned, ill-executed decision - which he apparently didn't even want to make. It doesn't get more real than that.
I have to find out why guys like Basso, TJ and if there is any one else on the right that posts here - which I can't find, why do you waste time in here? It seems that they wait for you to post then all these far left BBS'ers come out and jump all over you - not to say you don't deserve it most times. But, my point is that you are so out numbered here that at some point you got to believe it is a lost cause. I believe it would be more effective if you didn't post and they would have to stroke their own egos for awhile - which would bore them, maybe. I, being independent, and still wavering back and forth have had to stay out of here, because one point you made is true, is both sides are now going way out of bounds - especially lately against Palin. I have been leaning towards Barack, and still may go that direction, but the attacks on Palin here in the BBS and in the media are atrocious. It really has given me cause for re-consideration and in that sense I believe is back-firing on the left. I realize a strong, beautiful, pro-life, NRA member, reformer, mother of five, woman scares those on the left, that they will do anything to discredit her and attack her, but it could eventually cost them the election........they need to focus on her ability (credentials) to be VP and possibly president if they want to win and drop the personal/family attacks, it won't work.
Honestly...disregarding the so called liberal media that are more into sensationalism than supporting Obama or the Democrats because that is how they get their ratings up...no..I take that back...so me any attack on Bristo Palin by the media or Obama campaign and source it please. Is it an attack to say that she is pregnant and that alone consists of an attack? If so, it was John McCain and Sarah Palin that attacked Bristol Palin and leaked this sensationalist story to the worldwide media. Not bloggers, not the internet, not the radio, not tv, not the BBS...and definitely not the Obama campaign.
I think this phase has been the armpit of politics, but it's ironic that before this, the biggest attack on a politician's family member was Michelle Obama. 10 years ago, McCain ripped an off color joke about Hillary and Chelsea. Have some Conservatives heart begun to bleed?
She wants to be in politics....she has to be ready to handle it..... All is fair in love and war, and this....is....War ! DD
I feel sorry for our country if people actually get swayed in an election by the type of attacks someone gets instead of the issues and the repercussions of voting one over the other. As an independent myself I can't fathom this. Our country is at a critical stage for anyone to even factor this in the scales of choosing a president. I'm voting for Obama. To put it simply I think our country needs a break from the policies of the last eight years.
Is her grasp on american history, or lack thereof, in play? She's one of those "the founding fathers wrote the pledge of allegiance" types.
It hasn't been a week, and the repubs are already begging for mercy? HO HO HO Better watch out liberals, you might make the repubs mad. Or else.... ELSE!
it's been reported the father of the baby just flew out to the convention. now really? if they want to keep this a personal matter, why do this and invite further questioning?
