Exactly. If McGrady doesn't get moved, we'll need to buy him out toot-sweet. The backlash from players and talking heads will make management look awful.
I agree, if we can't get a good deal from any other team, I would rather hold on to t-mac 'til the end of the season.
Tracy says he just wants to play. He's on a contract year and this is what he does for a living. Im pretty sure a buyout would be reached.
did you lose the direction of this thread? This is assuming no trade commences. I know what value a trade would bring.
But my point is that its the RIGHT thing to do. As an organziation you want to look player friendly not like A-holes and the Rockets would look like definite A-holes if they didnt buy him out and give him an opportunity to let him play on a CONTRACT year.
If the Rockets can't trade him, then what do they have to lose by playing him? If he pans out, maybe they could work a sign and trade. If he flames out or gets hurt, well, he'll be a FA at the end of the season anyways, so he'll be gone regardless.
T-Mac's done with this team. If a deal can't be reached let him sit out the rest of the year which will make us look like idiots for paying him 23 million to do nothing but we look like idiots anyway for not getting a deal done
