    I can't be troubled to go through your entire reply, but I'll say this -- I had a professor once say to me: "There are those who doubt that there's any such thing as knowable truth."

    Which is to say, you and I can see the same thing happening in front of us, and come up with two entirely different interpretations of the what we both saw in real time. In fact, this happens all the time. (Small example: did Altuve hit a home run in the playoffs versus the Red Sox or no?)

    So, going to the "science"-and-"hard data"-card is a bit laughable to me, as is anything that puts NBC News (among others) in the centrist and "real news" camp.

    Well you chose a poor analogy.

    There is accumulated data with a large sample size versus your example of one event.
