Currently in the 12th pick in Fords mock drafts, were a couple of spots away from Hassan Whiteside... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CaMy7ErjKdw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CaMy7ErjKdw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> --RB
We're going TANKING!!!!! Gives us a better pick. Adelman can feel free to experiment like a mofo just as long as he gives Hill and Air Bud all the mins. Imagine if Houston won the lottery and then lucked into the No 2 pick (thank you Knicks) the following year as were coming down from the high of winning our third chip? I forgot how much fun tanking can be. Stern Bot would rig it tho. Damn you Stern Bot!
I love this kid. He has so much raw talent. His Dad played for the vikings so his frame should be able to add some bulk. And already he is averaging 5.5 blocks a game. In one game against Ohio I think he had 14 points 17 rebounds and 9 block shots. He is the real deal so I expext him to move up to the top 8 at least but since his dad is an ex pro athlete he may not even come out. I hope he does.
You guys do realize that Cleveland just lost their last two as well right? It's called trying to integrate five new players into our roster, with at least 3 having to take up important rotation spots (starting SG, backup PF, backup PG). When I see Rick Adelman continuing to go with our pre-trade starting lineup, that tells me that he still wants to compete. I'm with you guys actually--I hope he mixes in all the new guys instead of Hayes and Battier, just to see what we kind of talent we're working with and whether or not a new environment might bring something more out of them. But as of tonight, he's still trying to win. With so much turnover, however, the outcomes would seem to be indifferent to how much we actually want to win.
Yey! its soo much fun watching your team losing every game! Look all the teams with big trades: Kings: Lose Cavs: Lose Knicks: Lose The players needs to adjust to a new team and a new system.
Thank you, Old Man Rocks! As others have mentioned, we may pull off an unintentional tank; you know, the kind where RA and DM try to win games with all the right pieces but can't pull it off. If we win 40 this year, I'll be impressed. If we win just 35, I'll agree more than ever that DM is a genius. 35-47 will be evidence of tanking. A lottery pick in '10 and all those Knicks goodies coming up in '11 and '12 may lead to championship hardware for our trophy case later this decade. The 2009-2010 season is officially over. We're not winning a title. And who gives rat's behind about losing in 5 in the 1st round? T-Mac took us that far already, and I didn't like the way it tasted. Better to tank and load up for the future. A few weeks ago we were saying, "We're just 3 games out of 3rd," and then "Just 2 games out of 6th," and now it's, "We're just 3 games out of 8th." Wake up, gentlemen. Next month you'll hear, "We're just 8 games out of 8th; gives these guys time and a few lucky bounces and they'll get it together in time for a playoff run." Stop deluding yourselves. This team sucks (22 games does not a knee-jerk make: we're 8-14 in 2010; if you don't consider that crappy, you have abysmal standards)... but there is hope for the future.
So this season is already over for like 16 or 17 teams??? So they should tank to get a better position on the draft?
tanking is such a loser mentality, just because someone is drafted high doesn't mean they'll be good players. What type of fanbase do we have???? all we need is better officiating

keep trying to win till we're mathematically out. as of right now portland is only ahead of us by 4 games. string together a 5 game winstreak and we should be in the hunt.
Thats just it though. Why go for a questionable hit with the chances of missing the playoffs and pass up a good pick when you know tanking is definately achievable. Teams with a worst record than Houston already knows who they are drafting. If you look on those teams schedules not much difference how the lottery balls pop out would change their mind anyways. If teams have a target besides the first 8 teams who are aiming for Wall obviously every team after 8 already knows their player anyways especially if they already had discussions about it.
I just want to point out that 2 of those 3 teams are already lottery teams. Cavs are obviously going the playoffs. Now that I mention that, and I hate to say this, but we were a lottery team before the trade and continue to be a lottery team. Let's just call a spade a spade with this team, we're just not that good.
so rick adelman is willing to experiment playing the newcomers significant minutes but never wanted to experiment with tmac playing significant minutes? lol!
Tanking would make sense if we didn't have a GM capable of sniping talent regardless of where he's positioned in the draft. Clearly, that's not the case here. Plus, I have a feeling we'll get in on the Rubio sweepstakes this offseason anyway. He's just as big of a prospect as anybody that we could hope to get by tanking (assuming, of course, that strategy even succeeds in the first place).
Portland lost so we're one game back in the loss column. It's a bit premature to tank in my opinion. We don't want a losing culture.
