Where did you find any chinese fan who is skeptical of his injury, in this article or elsewhere? If anything, it was the American posters who was saying Yao was faking it for quite a while. You just don't like Chinese fans. Admit it, it's fine.
I think what he doesn't like is that the fans are on a ROCKETS site, and are more concerned with the CNT than the Rockets. And that is a fair point. DD
If the Rockets and Chinese Sports Authority could come to an agreement how Yao Ming would play both for the Rockets and China, Rockets fans and fans from China can certainly co-exist on this board. A little mutual respect is all that is needed.
China is mad at Yao being hurt. China in retaliation begins to dump U.S. dollars on the market. U.S. economy crashes. Chaos and riots break out as American society crumbles. It is all Jeff Van Gundy's fault.
If the best source you can quote is Yahoo and the Washington Post they tis pretty weak... Two things to mention though, its not JVG's fault that Yao got his foot stepped on....the people who think this are morons...how about accidents happen sometimes......lol Second, if it weren't for capitolists none of us would have jobs, if you make a statement like that you clearly have been brain washed by socialists/communists. Last time I was in China they seemed to be pretty receptive to capatilism by my account. And if you don't think so then answer me this question...."Why would they allow tourists into the Forbidden City for a fee, it used to be off limits to everyoen thus the knickname "Forbidden City"?...or any of the other monuments and temples for that matter.
A little bit of both...don't really care about y'alls argument...just curious as to why someone who is an administrator can't also be a fan? Theoretically, they would be the bigger fan, you would think.
I don't see how disliking Chinese fans (for what they do) who care more about the CNT than the Rockets means he hates all Chinese fans (for who they are). That's a straw man argument. You're fine ima_drummer. I don't think anyone really believes you hate Chinese people.
I think it is ridiculous to think there are some Chinese fans think Yao and Rox faked the injure. But it is possible that someone is skeptical that the injure need 6+ months to heel. Based on common sense, usually it only takes 2-3 months for a broken bone injure. Of course we are not doctors. Once the report is out, it should clear everything up. Trust me, there is very little chance CNT officials will rush Yao for the world championship games if he really need that long to come back. 2008 Olympic is more important than anything and Yao is more valuable to CNT than Rox. Think about it, minus Yao, Rox still has T-mac, but CNT has nobody. That is why some Chinese fans are upset about it because they expect to see Yao in China and they enjoy Yao playing for his country once a year, 2 months of 12 months, and yet he got injured and might miss that opportunity, not because he was in the thick of the playoffs hurt, fighting for NBA championship or something, he got injured because he was inserted to play for a game that has less value than a preseason game, while Rox’s best interest is to lose as many games as they can and it benefits nobody by playing him. More importantly, not only he had to play a meaningless game, he was actually told to play back to back while he twisted his angle the night before! That is why it looks so stupid and that is why people are upset!
hmmm, you mean an administrator can potentially also be a fan, right? He's not "a chinese fan" or "some chinese fan" without additional speculation. A Chinese sports administrator doesn't need to be a former player, or even a fan, he's a bureaucrat. Being skeptical is part of his job. I don't get where that "Chinese fans" crap come from. Frankly, I don't care to explain if anyone doesn't think from "chinese sports administrator" to "chinese fans" is a giant leap.
More vicious than a capitalist! OMG! It's almost worth having the worst season in Rockets history just to be able to read something that funny!
It's internet language. It's a joking way of saying things nowadays in China. If you understand Chinese pop culture, you know what I mean. Well, the comic value is apparently much higher in another culture.
