Oh you can fill 'em up, you just have to bleed the air off the top

Turn your car off and don't smoke while you're doing this, btw

I have it as sort of pointless to weigh the impact of an explosion in your backyard of 1000 gallons versus 800 gallons.

The human body generates more bioelectricity than a 120-volt battery and over 25,000 BTUs of body heat

That is the answer. If you're riding a bike in the Matrix.

    Simpson's LP Gas Service

That was my granddad's business in Johnson City. I loved going on the truck runs, out to wherever, to fill up their tanks.

Ended up talking to both the company and the old lady (she is over 80 years old, but very energetic and formidable still!). Turns out the company never transfered the account - she can still access it - they have been charging late fees to a dead person's account, etc. - but she can still see how much gas is left, over 40 % after 2 1/2 years. I guess we don't really cook that often lol.

My gas meter is 160 ft away from my electrical box if I go around the garage.
Otherwise 90 if I can get a gas line to one side and run electrical through the garage…

Anyone know if they have to put the generator close to gas meter?

A portable generator? You can put a quick connect anywhere on your house, it will be cheaper if it is close to an existing line but if you plan to be in the house for a while do it so it is most convenient for you.

Oh, screw the costs then. Put it far away from your bedroom or wherever the sound will bother you the most. They can put it where you want.

People with generators, remember to change the oil at the required intervals. Use the cheap walmart supertech pure synthetic stuff and you can add another day to the interval, at your own discretion/risk. Most commonly it is around 100 hours you should be changing the oil or 5 with synthetic.

Yeah, they might go 10 days on the same oil, or it might crap out on you when you need it most. Most likely... it'll run for 10 days straight on the same oil, and then never run right again without a rebuild.

What's the max length that is advised to run a quick connect hose between gas meter and generator?

My dad-in-law has a large back yard. The gas connector is on the Southeast side of his house, far away from his electrical box, which is behind the garage in the Northwest corner. Ideally, the generator would be positioned behind the garage so that it's close to the electrical box and to lessen noise.
