if we can get duren after 10 id definitely do it .

My biggest sleeper / upside in the draft. Hes a bit behind in skills , but i cant help but see a great C . Hes got such great athleticism and hands and plays big and pretty smart for being so young.

That ok if they can get Eason or Beauchamp at 17 and Jaylin Williams at 26.

Yes, def strong and physical enough to defend bigs.

Its guards that will give him trouble. But he's wide, physical and long (7'0 wingspan) so hard to get around even if not as quick to mirror or cut off angles.

But Rockets don't give a dang about defense anyway, as long as guys can playmake and score amirite?

As for trading up for Duren, anything possible.

But there is no way Rockets start Paolo-Sengun-Duren in frontcourt.

    Absolutely zero spacing.

Yeah but I still wish we would take the best talent and Duren is the ultimate switchable Defensive rim protecting and rebounding stud in the draft. Athletic enough to guard the perimeter

His switch defense is inconsistent and overrated. But no reason why he cannot improve with good coaching, consistent technique and more focus.

He IS money as rim protector with 7'5 wingspan.

    He's also an underrated passer.

Jaylin Williams is the pick here reason being we will be locked into a rookie contract with the late FRP so we need to have room to play him —> fit over BPA. A double is better than a swing & miss trying to get a home run. Solid back-up big (maybe more) high BballIQ, GlueGuy that will do the dirty work without the ball in his hands. real picks and screens, team player and rebounding. He will be used every night is much better fundamentals than anything we have had in a while —> Great use of a roster space. Real size, too —> 6’10” / 240lbs.

It would seem that way. I really like the way Duren runs the court and is active on the offensive glass. He is a great lob threat with some flashes of future offensive potential. Im hoping Sengun comes back with a respectable 3 point shot next year. I think Jalen would work great off the pick game these guys could provide and having this type of big man talent around him would only usher along his own playmaking and allow Scoot to play off ball more.

3 point shooting is vital though there is no dispute there.

Basically, the Rockets haven't found a team that are willing to discuss trading down at anything close to what the Rockets are will be willing to pay to trade up.

True but am I the only person worried about Silas……

starting Boban and Paolo w Sengun off the bench lol

if we got a Williams then I could see that as a more feasible option but… my nightmare lineup as the roster is currently looking…

    KPJ
    Green
    Gordon
    Paolo
    Boban

    Silas scares me brehs

He also won’t be 19 until November I believe, I can’t imagine Duren falling outside the top 10.

As expected, we’re not getting anything for 17 and 26, the picks ahead of 17 are very valuable and the teams know that.

If teams want to win now they can probably get much better players on better contracts than we’re offering
