Me too. I don't know if the Sixers have a comparable expiring contract or a player on a 2 Yr contract.
Danny Green has a non-guaranteed expiring contract. As long as he is released before July 1st the Rockets don't owe him anything, my friend. That is as good of an expiring as you can get in the NBA.
He has a 2-year 20 million dollar contract with only 10 million guaranteed. If he is on the roster by July 1st the other half of the 10 million is guaranteed.
I'm not positive, but it would seem that Danny Green's contract should be covered by the NBA's long term insurance. This would mean that after he misses his 41st game, the team will only be responsible for 20% of his salary. SOURCE So the Rockets would have to carry Green for most of the year, but they theoretically could help out a team with direct money savings at the deadline. A team could trade up to $15M salary for Green at Game 42, and would be saving $5M against the luxury tax, and about $6.5M in actual paid salary. That's probably at least worth a future second rounder, considering the Rockets got an unprotected 2024 Brooklyn 2nd for taking on Sekou Doumbouya's $3.5M last offseason.
Oh I didn't realize that. We might as well do it. It's not like we're going to be signing any big names this year anyway. As a fanbase too we're aware of how valuable second rounders can be.
Same, though I think he'll be long gone at 17. I wouldn't be mad at Stone if he used both 17 and 26 to move up to Charlotte's 13th pick to nab Williams.
if you could package 17/26 just to move up to 13 regardless of who you're picking that would be a definite W you consolidate a 26th pick who they will probably have no use for and upgrade a few spots up
Would you give up the Milwaukee 2023 1st to seal the deal, where we get 13 and 15 back? That's a hefty price to pay, no doubt, but I can't see Charlotte passing that up. That gives them two 1sts this year and 1 1st next year to help move Hayward's contract off of their books.
I definitely would. The bucks pick will also be a late one and will have no use for the Rockets. If there is someone in the area of 13 deemed worthy, it's worth it to me the #13 pick is also a better bargain piece to expand on trade(s) as another use
You seriously comparing Magic and Bird level of talent on offense to Paolo? Just stop. Rockets are going to draft Paolo at #3 so the lobbying is unnecessary.
