Jeff, any time. Like I said, Josh Dodes is now my new favorite band.

Today the Nuggets announced that Dan Issel would be back as head coach next season. In related news, the NBA announced that the Nuggets have been mathematically eliminated from the 2002 NBA playoffs already.

By the way Jeff, in my opinion, the best Liquid Soul album to get started on is "Make Some Noise". Great cameo by Kurt Elling on there as well.

Zac D -- what do you think about the Ultimate Fakebook CD "This Will Be Laughing Week"? I got it a while ago and haven't listened to it that much. I might give it some more spins...

You've heard of them? I don't care if you're conservative, you're damned cool =) Actually, I've never listened to the actual cd "This Will Be Laughing Week"; they played some of the songs from it at the concert and I liked them a lot. If it's anywhere near as good as "Electric Kissing Parties" then I'd be thrilled. "Far, Far Away", a track that's on both of their CDs, is a really excellent song.
Do you know of any more little-known bands like UFB? It's fun to see just how good some of the bands that get no airplay are, like Home Grown for example.

A band that just made it over the hump(Wasn't too popular before, now is) is Incubus.

If you still haven't heard them, then you should definitely go buy it.

"Three be the things I shall never attain: envy, content, and sufficient Champagne" - Dorothy Parker (1893-1967)

We guess that if Ms. Parker had a chance to hear the LEMON JELLY CD, Lemonjelly.ky, (just in-stores this past April 10) she'd be satisfied with even the smallest amounts of the bubbly. Lemon Jelly's music alone would make her feel warm and happy inside. Rolling Stone has called the album a "delicious, improbable treat" and Spin said the songs "bubble with narcotic dance beats and wack vocal samples (self-help tapes and kids' nature documentaries). We know they meant wack in the best possible way. The bottom line is that Lemon Jelly is the perfect compliment to a nice glass of Champagne: groovy, melodic, humorous and refreshing.

    LEMON JELLY RULES!!!!!!

Hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend!

Zac D -- I heard about them off of a Marvelous 3 discussion board. Apparently Jerry Finn has produced some of their stuff, is that true? I remarked that he seems to have the golden touch, having produced the latest Marv 3 CD and one of my favorite CDs ever, the self-titled and only release from Coward. Both of those discs are just hard-edged power pop treats. Someone then pointed me towards UFB. Some other cool bands with similar styles are Tsar and A. Also The Katies.

I like his words and singing, but I know it's not for everyone.

In a better world, Supergrass would be talked about as the new Beatles. Buy everything with their name on it and thank me later.

To my knowledge, a fellow named Ed Rose is their producer. Eric Melin (UFB's drummer) co-produced a couple of the songs with Rose, I think. Now I'm definitely going to have to do some re-checking into Marvelous 3 [IMG]

The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

I already posted her, but I can't say it enough:

    Check out Devon!!!

You heard it here first -- she WILL be a star . . . along the lines of a Tori Amos in her popularity.

Her first CD was great, but the second one (if it's anything like the songs on the website) will be incredible.
