I wasn't a huge Rafer fan until the season. I didn't hate him last season but wasn't to much of a fan. I really like Luther but don't believe he could ever start the point and play full time because he turns over the ball way to much. Right now Rafer passes the ball well and should push the ball up a little harder like Brooks.

    No, more like:
Less Reefer = More Cognitive Thoughts

I've accepted that I was wrong about Rafer, you should too.

His inconsistent shooting drives fans nuts. And when he is shooting 20 or 30 percent, he keeps shooting. I really, really hope he is not here next season, the same thing I hoped last season. And the season before. How can we miss him if he never leaves?

The only time I have issue with Rafer shooting is when its early in the shot clock and he doesnt even make a pass to initiate the offense. I have no problems with Skip shooting after the ball moves around and he does a catch n shoot. Even a 3 pointer. I like that sometimes in that situation he will even drive the lane and create better opportunities for others. Just dont shoot early in the clock without letting the offense develop. That just helps out the other defense.

you got your wish. Rafer was out last night and Iverson torched Brooks like a bad habit. We NEED Rafer on this team.

you have no idea what you are talking about... rafer is NOT a good defender (i am not saying he is bad), he is just a product of good surroundings. additionally, jason kidd actually knows how to set up plays with his creativity, etc... which, unfortunately rafer does not. i think rafer is SO overrated as a pg. and that says alot because i think he sucks. i will never understand why jvg and ra continue to run that scrub out there night in and night out. i was the happiest guy in houston when i read rafer stabbed someone last offseason because i thought that would surely be the end of skip.. but, noooooo, he just has to keep on coming back. he's like a tumor, a cancer... i know we have played well this season, and i give credit to rafer for having a few decent games here and there... but, when our pg consistently averages 4.9-12.5 for .394 fg%, something has to be changed. that is just unacceptable. not to mention he only averages 5 dimes a game with prolific scorers all around him... and that is especially true when yao is in the lineup. hell, we dont need a front of the line pg to be successful in the west. we need a point like luke ridnour.. not rafer freaking alston. i honestly hate to say this because i have loved the rockets since ive been knee high to a duck, but i hope rafer's hammy stays hurt. no compromise.

Did you not see how Iverson went at Brooks everytime he had the ball? did you not notice Brooks picking up 4 fouls in 2 minutes? at least Rafer could defend Iverson, and he's actually one of the better defensive guards in the league. Stop hatin. I like Brooks too but his size will always be a factor defensively.

Brooks size is a factor at times, but I dont know what game you were watching but Rafer was also getting crossed like a street by iverson also....Rafer was getting rained on by AI the whole time he was in the game also, so its not only brooks

the simple fact is rafer is a good defender who can hold his own against premier pg's, while brooks is a very poor defender because of his size. brooks should be able to get tons of steals with his speed, but he's not a great on-ball defender and his hands arent as quick as rafer's.

Did you not notice how Iverson killed Rafer too?

Heck their perimeter penetration killed the Rockets and them pushing the ball up into our lack of transition D didnt help either...we gave up 47 fast break points, that is inexcusable.

Rafer is a good team defender, I agree.......Brooks is a rookie too early to tell if he can be a defender or not. Rafer is great at playing passing lanes, but matched up against quicker PGs or bigger PGs, he seriously struggles.

It's funny Brooks picked up 3 fouls in 2 minutes. Brooks cant play against AI. AI can foul him out in 10 minutes, for now. :(

But I love Brooks. Brooks is an aggressive little man. Brooks always reaches in, grapes, even takes charges. Let's give Brooks some credits. At least Brooks is trying, but Brooks is foul prone.

brooks didnt even foul him half the time! You notice it was exactly like the SAC game officiating wise? The first 2 min no fouls called, just letting the players play and then a barrage of calls on us.... Rafer takes bad shots, but thats not what makes him so bad, he takes them at the WORST time. Last night we were down by 5, then as soon as we brought it up the court rafer fell into their trap and took a 3 immediately, heck i dont think the guy made 1 FG yest. The Nuggs answered back with a 7-0 run or even worse i think. He pulled the same **** vs the Kings and I'll never forgive him for that..that one loss i will take to the grave
