The Rockets will have the MLE as well.... Also a veteran exception I believe... Essentially the Rockets can add Anthony and 2 other rotational players...

On the off chance someone takes this seriously, what's being proposed is impossible both from a CBA perspective and from a Player's Union perspective in addition to lacking common sense.

Yeah well I have a friend who works as a custodian in Miami and he said the rumor there is that LeBron wants to come to Houston and will play for free if Les gives him that New York winery he opened a year ago. He would also try to lure Battier and Spoelstra.

 

If all that were to happen we would instantly be better on defense and rebounding. We would be instant nba champs.

This isn't the NFL, you can't restructure

 

We should just do a sign-and-trade to acquire Kyle Lowry, and have him lure both Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes to coming as well on MLE deals.

Check the first bullet under "Contract & Player Salaries." Looks like renegotiating is allowed, but would have to extend contract.

 

The CBA conflict comes from making MLE level offers to both KG and Pierce. The Rockets can't come up with enough money to do that after trading for DWill.

The Players Association conflict comes from the fact that PA pretty much always disallow renegotiaton of contract that lowers money paid to the player because it would set a horrible precedent.

The common sense conflict comes from Morey even thinking about lengthening what is already an albatross contract.

 

Yeah but what vet would you add so Carmelo could start at the 3? A vet that is willing it make either 5M or 2.5M..

 

As has been pointed out, you cannot restructure deals in the NBA. Your friend has no ****ing clue.

Anthony would get demolished on the defensive end by the likes of LMA and Love..
