I just think the timing of this is really interesting. We haven't been this close to a championship in 22 years, and les says he is selling team?

Obviously Harden, Paul, Morey knew about this before it happened. Still..such strange timing.

This doesn't mean the team will be sold today, this week or even this year. We're poised to have another pretty good season, and depending on how far we go in the playoffs + how long the bidding process stays open, the selling price could easily top the Forbes estimate.

I'm gonna miss Les. I hope the new ownership group is as committed to recognizing and honoring our former players as Les was.

Thankful we locked harden up when we did - that dude loves Les. Now we have to hope the new owner is on board with Morey and his analytics. Scary.

This could be good, or it could be a complete catastrophe. Les wanted to win, and he handed the keys to a forward thinking GM. We could do a hell of a lot worse than him.

I'd love for Tilman Fertitta to buy the Rockets, however, it's a pipedream. Do you guys remember the Texans? During the process of building the Houston Texans as an NFL team, Fertitta was one of the original investors in creating the franchise. He then lasted as a partner for the Texans owner Bob McNair until 2008. Fertitta then had to sell his interest in the franchise, as he owns Golden Nugget Casinos as part of Landry's subsidiary. NFL rules state any staff member of a team can't be associated with gambling. Both Fertitta and McNair were disappointed, as Fertitta was part of the franchise since the beginning, yet the team needed to comply with NFL rules. I imagine NBA rules are very similar

 

Le$ had a great relationship with Morey and Harden.

This is scary. A bad owner can ruin everything.

Les spend the money that holic thought he wasn't spending, and Les isn't selling the team because of any financial troubles.

 

Word is that Tilman has had a special private group within his company whose goal was/is to put him in the best position possible to own a Houston franchise.

 

I'm just hoping we get a former player or someone who is obviously willing to unload money whenever it counts.

 

His ego scares the crap out of me. Also a big time micro manager... my brother is friends with his one of his sons so I've been around him quite a bit.
