Oh so I suppose no one posting has ever been a 'dick", i mean in the last 15 minutes ?

Also I would suggest the person who posted this thread is an insult to the Rockets and their owner, by misspelling his last name. cute. like a little punk in 8th grade maybe.......

Or Alexandria wanted Lin vs Dragic.

Anyhoot, I'm convinced Dragic left because he wanted to. Got more money and a guaranteed starting role. All that happened before we traded Lowry. And yeah we agreed to an offer sheet with Lin while negotiating with Dragic, but that could have been matched after Dragic left. He left because of a guarantee to start and more money, because he wanted to. Plus, he had played 3 years for the Suns previously, anyhow. We wanted him to stay. "We" meaning Morey.

Alexandria can't say, "oh, he didn't leave because he wanted to. He left because we didn't want him." That's something you say about an ex-girlfriend who left you because you weren't paying enough attention to her. Otherwise, you could say the same thing about Parson..."oh, we didn't match, because we didn't want him" seems to be Les's reasoning.

I don't trust wealthy people who roll with Dynex tbh.

Saying Dragic didn't leave because he wanted to, is like Pops-defenders saying Simmons didn't want to leave, rather Pops thought he was a product of the system so thinks $6.8m/yr is overpaying him. It was all Pops choice. lulz. No, Simmons left because he wants more PT, despite Spurs ability to match ORL's salary with his Early Bird raise..plus, he probably hates that cowtown vs Orlando, just like Dragic loved the city of Phoenix (where he played for 3yrs) over Houston.

00RocketsGril and I talked to Zoran about it at Summer League. It was pretty obvious to us that Dragic is a lover of that desert climate, like Majerle was.

I've always been on the fence regarding Les....

I guess the fact that Les is running a business is pretty much always evident... as opposed to be a fan who owns the team...

He is first and foremost a businessman... he's frugal when he doesn't see the potential for a large return... but willing to spend when he sees the opportunity to raise the organizations profile and garner a greater return on marketing...

I think he obviously makes some decisions to market to overseas - as opposed to what's best for the team he's putting on the floor... Lin over Dragic kinda moves...

So while he's not a cheapskate... he's not quite as 'all about winning' as say Cuban.... Cuban I think would operate at a loss if he could win a chip... Les is about investment vs return.... i can't fault him for that - it's a business....

Letting Hakeem go elsewhere I've always viewed as a travesty... I'd say you eat a season or two of diminished return to have somebody like Hakeem retire a Rocket... set yourself up for a couple decent draft picks... do the 'retirement tour' with the guy who won you a couple chips... unless maybe you think the rest of the squad really had the potential to contend sans the old timer - which we weren't...

Then there's the whole Barkley thing... which I can't say definitively what went down there... but its questionable...

Overall, I think Les has been a better than average owner.... there are probably a few that would be better from a fan's perspective... but many who would be a lot worse.... I'd give him a 'B' overall ... lol

I think his statement was somewhat fair. Parsons and Dragic left because they didn't get the contract they wanted from Houston. Dragic wanted a guaranteed 4th year and didn't get it. Parsons thought he was a max guy and third piece of a chip roster. We thought he was worth like 8 million a year. So, if Les gives Chris Paul what he wants contract wise, Chris will choose us over others offering the same. I think that's all he was getting at. People leave, but not because they want to be out of Houston. They leave for money.

It doesn't really matter whether Dragic or Howard wanted to leave... what matters is Les Alexander believes it and that is how he runs his organization and what he thinks of his team.

Les doesn't screw around. He is and always has been unconventional, a gambler and supremely confident... and a little bit bat **** crazy.

Some of the comments on here remind me of CNN reporting. Trying to make something of nothing.
Les answered all of the questions. Sure, he didn't elaborate much and gave short, straightforward answers.
But he didn't seem rude at all. Seemed to be a bit perturbed in having mics shoved in his face. Like any of us likely would
But I don't see what all the brewha is about.
