Les Alexander has not owned and does not currently own the Houston Aeros.

He is, however, the only man in town who can own an NHL team, unless he sell the Rockets. I wish he were more interested in that than owning the Dynamo.

Les made a KILLING off the Comets. You have no idea what you are talking about. The dude from Hilton furniture went bankrupt buying the Comets off of Les for a stupid amount of $$ for a WNBA team.

He is a shrewd and smart businessman who recognizes an ATM machine when he sees one. The Dynamo are going to print $$ in their new stadium with the ticket guarantees they have with club and suite seats.

Sorry Kam but as someone who know a little bit about Live Production for big concerts unless BBVA Compass grows a roof it will never take the Arena Music business away from TC. Not to mention the power capabilities of TC that allow it to sustain huge Audio/Visual equipment.

AEG built it in mind with doing concerts in there. Other than Livenation, AEG is the other big dog in concert promotions.

It has no roof therefore bands like Coldplay/Lady Gaga won't play there. Their production companies won't risk Million dollar stages and lights on a drop of rain.

Because the stage and half the seats are covered?

you're right...i've been there at a concert during the rain, though....and it blows sideways right into where the soundboard is.

The stage is built into the stands and is covered. Now, where the sound dudes hang out, not sure about that. I'm sure they can put one of those cover things over their little staging area.

    Lol, Lady Gaga. Sorry man.

Not that's going to cover you from rain. See ACL 2009. Or ACL 2006 during Tom Petty.

Damn I was hoping De La Hoya would still be a minority owner because he said he would bring boxing to the BBVA

BBVA can't steal any concerts from Toyota center. To get the sports authority involved BBVA had to agree to a non-compete clause with Toyota center.

I wouldn't be surprised if he still did. He could always make one of his conditions of selling that he gets cheap/no rent for a couple of events a year there.

Nothing says, yet, that he won't still have a stake. The goal is to buy AEG out of the equation so that they don't have ownership in multiple teams.

Here's the thing. The Dynamo and the Astros play at the same time.

Is there going to be a csn-2?

There is fine print in that 7-year non-compete clause.

But if Les buys the Dynamo & BBVACS, the non-compete will be a non-issue.
