Yep I read that interview and since I'm still following PHX, I know exactly what he is talking about: FIT.

Both McDonough and Morey value talent over fit.

Instead of paying Frye, who was a terrific fit in Suns, he acquired Thomas who was a terrible fit. And one month prior to that he drafted a PG Tyler Ennis instead of Capela, for example.

I guess players like Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, Mario Bellinelli, Danny Green and Boris Diaw are laughing at that....

Well, I think most value talent over fit, when they're rebuilding. Houston was looking for stars at that time. I'm not sure most GMs would keep Dragic.over a star.

Phoenix's pg situation was worse then anything Morey did though. All three played the same spot and non were going to become stars.

Dragic used the spurs as an examplex building around their three, even now, but they earned it with rings, not with a good statistical season. Goran just came to these teams too soon.

It depends on the situation right? Honestly when we let dragic go the Rox had plans to bring Lin over (Les move), so you can't use Dragic's case as an example. In the case of Rockets then, they were building a core so they would keep trading players away and drafting other guys just to get player who was undervalued or turned into a star.

What's ironic was this summer is the first time the Rox tried to make conventional team building, they resigned guys who played well last year (Brewer, Bev, KJ, even Josh except he didn't want to resign in Houston), tried to get guys who would fit (Harden needed a pg, brought in Lawson who was Harden's buddy), even our drafts Bobby Portis was supposed to be the pick, but then they went with SF whatshisname because we already had a ton of PFs on the team. So when people are bashing the team now and bashing Morey for "moreyball", the reality is this is the first time the team went away from the Moreyball concepts they have stuck with since the beginning.

I was talking about Dragic fit in Phoenix, not here...although with a ball-dominant guard like Harden, no classic PG fits here unfortunately.

    Lowry would fit perfectly here.
Can play off the ball as he manages to do with derozan.
He's the pit bull this team needs.
He'd be the player to open his mouth about Hardens nonsense.
Oh, and he could've been ours too.

But we had to try for the keys to the championship. Sigh.

Lowery would end up beating the living crap out of Harden...

Lowery is a pure pg, my son is a huge Raptor fan since my cousin played for them... I watch the Raptors with him from time to time and it's lowery with the ball in his hands running the team...

Lowery would not be a good fit... As Koperboy stated no "no classic PG fits here". You need to get a shooting guard like Kover to play along side of Harden.

Doesn't look like it. Clutchfans has been telling me and trades for Jimmy Butler or Paul George. Maybe even a REAL WINNER and a REAL leader like DeMarcus Cousins.

    Farewell, Harden.

The two best players in the NBA are Curry and Harden, without a doubt!!!
You don't trade someone like Harden in his prime years.
It looks like many want to have Harden in another team be sure you think about it !!!
It almost looks like many other teams wish they had our HARDEN and would do anything to get him. I say NO he is a Rocket for life! Our team is being built on Harden as our best performer and that is the way it is. Y:p

Yup, all talk. Watch us not making any moves and Morey keep saying teams will fear us come play-off time. Even if we're 9th - 10th seed.

    What?

Curry is so much better than Harden, and Lebron is as well.

Harden is top 5ish - but he is not on Curry or Lebron's level....not even close.

Les is full of ****, he just used McHale as a scapegoat to "scare" his players. Too bad they already signed the guaranteed money contracts.

There were too many nights where it seemed like they didn't even bother to suit up this season.

god seeing this post...makes me really mad. His words are empty threats. This season has been the culmination of the worst curses happening ALL at once.

The price paid for such a terrible season was to trade players that really didnt contribute much to the catastrophic failure. Hoping you front office idiots are happy when the stadium remains empty...for these last 20 some odd games. Good luck renewing season tickets this offseason.
