At this point if JVG just announced that he was resigning due to differences in opinion and wished the Rockets the best, Les would come out of this looking like an arse. JVG could then write his meal ticket and go coach somewhere else.

JVG has permanently made houston his home due to family reasons and does not want to coach elsewhere whihle his kids are in school. He's not going anywhere else, which is why he wants to stay. He has a contract to coach the rockets. He wants to honor it, if Les doesn't than he should fire him.

With posts like these, if you get a new moniker, the subtitle should be "God of GARM".

You aren't being lied to, you are just not being told what is going on......and, it is none of your business.

Personally, I have never felt Les has done much as an owner. He bought the Rockets right before they won their 1st championship, which means he did not contribute in any meaningful way to the 94 championship. He did make a trade for Drexler in 95 which did help us repeat (but was trading Thorpe for Drexler a hard decision to make?).

After 95, what has Les done as an owner? Changed uniforms twice, approved a bunch of crappy trades (always going after a big name at the sacrifice of chemistry (with the exception of TMac, which was only possible thanks to that idiot Weisbrod)). A bunch of horrible drafts (more CD's doing). Let Rudy go (didn't even keep him as a scout??), let Calvin go as commentator, and now is letting JVG go.

I don't care what you say, you should not interview a new coach before firing the old one. That is a classless thing to do, and totally unprofessional. You're basically trying to eat your cake and have it to. If it doesn't work out with Adelman, they'll ask JVG to come back. It's unfair to leave someone in limbo like that, especially after the commitment and passion he's brought to your organization.

I have always felt that the biggest difference between elite teams and crap teams is upper management. When the GM, owner, and coach are in sync, the team typically does well. Things are falling apart at the top for the Rockets.. we won't be seeing a championship for several years.

It is our business. We're the fans. We're the customers. It's our home. It's our home team.

Different team now Sammy.....Francis and Mobley are gone.

    You are so silly sometimes.

Can't you see how different coaches are right or wrong for different teams?

    Ah, why do I bother.

I'm not a JVG lover (anymore) or a Span hater. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with JVG being let go. None at all. In fact, I support that decision.

The point of the thread is not to defend Van Gundy's return. It's the classless way in which Les lying to everyone and interviewing other coaches before deciding "officially" on JVG.

Name another NBA team that has done that to a coach. (There could be one, but I don't remember it happening)

    Sam,

Les called and he said to tell you. "It is none of your stinking business, he owns the team."

Poor wittle Sammy.......no one wants to tell wittle you what is going on......awwwww.......poor guy.

Here let me help.....JVG and his manipulative little self is being shown the door, and the Rockets instantly get better.
