    Agreed, witnesseth:
But it does NOT happen in the NBA so much.

Terry Stotts was fired this season. Rick Carlisle was fired this season. Bob Hill was fired this season.

Other NBA owners are man enough to fire their coach, only Les puts us through these silly games.

If Les wants to be meddlesome and domineering so be it. Just don't be sleazy about it.

What do you want to bet that there is some clause in JVG's contract that if he is fired before it is terminated he gets some cash?

    It is all just posturing.

JVG is not money grubbing, that is not the point, the point is that JVG probably has some contractual language to where he is owed some money.

Yes, I am guessing, but it sure seems that is what is going on.

And if JVG has been offered a consultancy, doesn't that make sense?

Pay him to go away....it happens in industries all over the world.

Eric Musselman was fired this season.

Those guys have contracts with clauses too, you know. Even if that were the case (which you don't know it is) Les doesn't have the balls to suck it up? And now he's offerd him a PAID non-coaching position? That makes your suggestion that its a money thing look rather dubious.

You are basically 100% wrong. You have yelled about les firing JVG all season. Now that he is too afraid to actually do it, you take his side? Sorry but you need to go chew some alfalfa with the rest of the sheep.

I don't blame Les for not respecting the fan's intelligence...especially if he's ever read some of the posts on this board.

I gotta agree with Sam on this one. The way this organization treats it's players/staff is kinda shady. I won't bother naming a list because we all know them.

I am not taking anyone's side here, I just think it is normal negotiations.

One of the great Freudian typos in Clutchfans history.

Maybe JVG should have been as upfront as well. He turned down an extension and has refused to come out publically and said that he absolutely wants to coach the Rockets. He has been publically...very ambivilent. So why does he deserve any better treatment from Les?

If that is normal in the NBA, please show me an instance where an owner has handled the departure of his last two coaches like this

As big of a Rudy supporter as you are, I am surprised you don't see a pattern here. Why do you think Rudy works as a Lakers scout after being a lifelong Rocket? He lives in Houston, is a city icon, yet he doesn't work here. Coincidence?

I don't care if JVG is fired, but stop all the BS spinning.

Breaking up can get messy. I am convinced that there is some contractual or political reason that Les has not come out and publicly fired JVG.

Big deal......it looks like the Rockets get a new coach....and JVG only made $20 million over his 4 years......

    Why do we care?

Because of the dishonesty. Did it to Rudy, now they are doing it to JVG.

I think Les is not the most up front person, no doubt. And I think Rudy was run out of town on rails.

But, the point is that this is the way Les works, and as long as the team stays in Houston and the Rockets compete....I don't give a flip.

I agree to an extent. Regardless of the owner, I will always support the team. But I just think that, like him or not, JVG worked his @ss off and deserves to be fired if they don't want him, not all this BS

I'm sure that some coaches are noticing this and are not pleased. Then again, money talks and maybe they won't care

I won't respect the fans intelligence either when people are claiming that Vspan is the savior.

Maybe JVG knows he is gone and would like to get some of the money left on his contract paid?

I think that is exactly what is going on.....

    They don't care one bit........
