Les Alexander didn't have to sell the Rockets but he did it for greed

i'm glad you can see my point of view that Les wasn't some owner that loved the city, the fans and the team like we do.

Les inherited the championship roster that Steve Patterson built and fired him day one. Now Les takes credit for the titles and worst, he took the trophies with him to florida!!

what owner does that? in any sport? take the trophies away from the team?

Also I know Tilman is cheap, we all know that , nobody has to convince me of this.
But these newbs don't remember that Les was talking to Louisville Kentucy if the city didn't build him Toyota Center.

In today's age, Balmer bought an arena for the Clippers with change in his pocket.

Les NEVER had to sell the team. He only did because he wanted the money.
There's no other reason, he wasn't forced to sell.

Let's not forget Les WAITED TIL WE SIGNED CP3 THEN SOLD THE TEAM.

He knew he was going to sell THE WHOLE TIME , jacked up our value and sold it.

The worst part is that CP3 made us awesome and he didn't even want to be part of that.

Exactly! Sold it for more than double of what he originally paid for the team. What is he actually going to do with that money at his age anyways?

I think any opinions on Tilman should be based on what his next moves are while Harden is still in his prime.

Tinman, I do not understand your definition of a "real billionaire". Total wealth is measured via net worth which includes everything of a measurable value. Tilman did not have enough cash to buy the Rockets in the first place but he had enough real estate assets plus cash flow from his existing businesses to borrow the deficit. So whether it is stocks or real estate or gold, there is no difference between Steve Balmer billionaire status to Tilman's billionaire status besides the amount of net worth.

Will bulldoze it and build a 1 billion dollar basketball stadium there

no way bubba gump can do that

no accusations from the fan base of being cheap or pandering to China

I am not sure what your point is in regards to my statement. Sure Ballmer can do that considering the fact that he is worth approx $71 billion and harder for Tilman at $4 billion. Hell Tilman even came on Tv during the pandemic almost complaining and begging for stimulus. But I was merely trying to show you that NET WORTH includes all assets and not just stocks or liquid funds. I am not discussing whether Tilman is cheap or not. That is to be seen with moves he makes next in terms of players he can acquire.

Why are we blasting Les for selling the team again? The dude was 74-75 at the time and had an opportunity to make BILLIONS in a single transaction. I would have done the same thing. It's not like he had an heir he could have handed this team to.

There’s a bunch of owners who never sold their team
They love being the owner of a nba team

they don’t drop it off to the humane society like Les

I think you need to take it up a notch. For years you've made subtle digs or passive aggressive threads to indirectly call out people. But it's 2020--if you can @Clutch you can @ whoever else is making you feel some type of way. Evolve into the next form of Tinman.

it's 2020 and people still don't know how we got here as an organization

they were fed false information by ESPN or a false narrative about the Rockets

If you say Les Alexander is a great owner you better know your history
    like @Clutch does

this place was created for hardware Rockets fans , not someone who got their Rockets history from Max Kellerman

    if's not ok

like having fake trophies in Houston while the real ones are in Florida

It's not ok to say Les had to sell the Rockets because he didn't have to

And let's be real here. Tilman is not the most hated owner in the NBA, it's the Knicks owner Steve Dolan.
And that dude will never sell, he could get billions of dollars for it.

Les wanted that cash, that's why you sell. He ain't an owner anymore.

When get a billion dollar sale and you just sit on that cash in a mansion in Florida,
you did that cause you want cash money
    that's it
