Let's see, oh yeah, I visited about 23 porno sites, didn't turn on my antivirus, spilled some bong water on it while I was toking up, downloaded at least 40 free programs whose sources I was completely unaware of, probably opened up about 34 attachments from messages that I found in my Junk folder, dropped the box when I was leaving the store with it, and unscrewed the back of the laptop to fiddle with a few wires, you know, to get a feel for it. #1- Presario, shouldn't have bought something that cheap, that was on me. Replaced with #2 HP, $200 upgrade. Ran very hot the 1st day within a very short period of time, mouse was very jumpy and I typed for 8 hours that day, so I definitely got a feel for the mouse, just didn't feel like it was worth the money I paid for it, tech support was lousy when I called with some introductory questions, so I said forget it- I did keep this one for 2 weeks. #3 Thinkpad I honestly did not intend to give this up at all- and the motherboard went out on me in 2 days. I installed ZERO programs on it, turned on and updated the antivirus, and only activated MS Word and Internet Explorer, did not use any other programs. So, although #1 was definitely my poor decision, #2 and #3 were not my fault at all. Prior to this, I had 2 computers that lasted a total of 10 years. With all the wasted time having to return those computers, with a 12-14 hour schedule every day this week, the last thing I need to hear is... oh, forget it, if I can't say something, nice....thank you, Mr Bebop, all opinions and criticisms welcome, even the ones I don't want to but should hear.
I just got the HP Biscotti and couldn't be happier. Intel Core I3 500 GB HDD 4MB DDR3 16" LED HD back lit screen Multi DVD+- Drive w/ Lightscribe Windows 7 w/ hardly ANY bloatware etc, etc, etc ...all for under $550. Spare me the HP hate, I've had HPs, VAIOs, Compaqs, IBMs, Toshibas...they're all relatively just as likely to burn out after a few years. Just my unexpert opinion.
Well, $800. Sony Vaio. So far, so good- keyboard good to use, wrist rest edge is curved as opposed to sharp (doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you're doing a lot of typing, comfort is a factor), 4GB memory, 500 GB hard drive, i330 processor, seems OK. Main thing for me is- KEEP ALL IN-PROGRESS PROJECTS ON A FLASH DRIVE AS OPPOSED TO THE C DRIVE "DOCUMENTS" FOLDER- had to redo 3 hours worth of work due to my stupidity in this last time.
One thing I noticed about Vaio laptops is that they overheat more than other major brand lappies. Definitely recommend you download and install speedfan (google it lol) and monitor the temperature(s).
