Does it offend you, yeah? Are you 60 years old or a Midwesterner? I didn't say there was anything wrong with being in that demographic, I just stated that to me seems the audience of the particular humor.

As a young, verile, nubile man in his twenties both their comedy styles don't appeal to me. But when I get older it may. But probably not.

It's a pretty smart move by that NBC CEO guy. Ever since Seinfeld and Friends went off the air, NBC's late night has plummeted. They used to be kings. Thursday night is the biggest payday for prime time because all the movie studios are paying big money for ads for the Friday night movies.

Studio productions costs millions per episode and many of them suck, don't get enough viewers, or both. Some good shows just aren't promoted right. Whatever the case, it's just a very risky business.

Leno gets what, 10-15 million bucks per year? The production costs are nothing relative to normal network shows, and you get 5 hours of prime-time programming per week and 52 weeks per year. That's a huge bang for your buck.

I don't think Leno is particularly funny...kind of cheesy and corny, but the evidence shows that he is a high ratings guy. Leno gets broad appeal from coast-to-coast. Conan, on the other hand, comes off a little too quirky for much of middle America.

So while it's a cheap move, and I don't particularly care for the show, I think it's a smart move. It's a lot better than The Biggest Loser or some other reality crap they would have there instead. I though, am staying with cable, sports, and Tivo.

I think Leno is pretty humorous. Conan acts like a child. Letterman is dated and spent. Kimmel is very good. Ferg is ADD, but can be funny. Fallon? Ugh.

I'm from the 40-year not give a crap what everyone else likes demographic.

Leno stopped being funny long before he ever took over the Tonight Show.

Letterman is pioneer who is still funny more often than not. He is definitely fresher, funnier, and edgier than Leno.

Conan is tops when it comes to this format.

So there is going to be 4 talk shows on NBC every night now...

If NBC and the producers of Top Gear could have convinced Leno to do be a part of that show, it would have been awesome. Jay loves cars and knows a ton about cars and he could bring in ratings that a show like that will need as I'm sure a lot of people won't get it at first.

Leno appeals to a much more diverse group of people.

A show like that would definately improve the existing audience, but his entire fanbase of tonight show wouldn't all care about it.

I used to despise Leno, but I'm ok with him now. I wouldn't stay up to watch him or think to change the channel to watch him, but I don't mind watching him if I'm up and I happen to see him channel surfing.

Wow......I can't believe it. As much as I hate Fallon, I would watch the show just for the Roots.

    HOLY SH**. That's amazing.

I can see the benefits from their perspective. It's probably good money, you don't have to travel for the majority of the year, and you only have to play a few minutes of music every night.

I'm a young, "verile and nubile" man in his twenties and Leno's comedy style appeals to me more so than Lettermans does.

I cannot recall ever laughing once while watching Letterman. His top ten list is the most boring crap ever.
At least both Leno and Conan have funny bits- e.g Leno's headlines, jaywalking and Conan w/ his "in the year 2000" bit and Conando.

But like was stated earlier, everyone has diff.tastes so diff. strokes for different folks. It's all good.

I'd just like to point out to all the "nubile" gentlemen in here that you're describing yourselves as physically developed young women who are suitable for marriage by way of age and presence of t*tties.

I don't think verile is a word either.

I kinda think I understand what he means though.

correct on leno, couldn't be more wrong about letterman.

i can't get into an argument about this because it enrages me, but i genuinely believe that there is something wrong with people who like jay leno and find him funny.

that's as much as i'm going to let myself get sucked into this.

I'm also trying to avoid getting sucked into this but the statement in bold above is how I feel about people that like Letterman and find him funny. Amazing!
