Remember when Kelvin Cato got 42 Million Dollars from Rudy T and Carrol Dawson after one good preseason game? I realized that that is one of the most important games in Rockets history, and I've never seen it!!! Please!!! Does someone have that game!?!?!

Obligatory "somebody tell Kelvin Cato, 'we want our money back!'" reminder.

he had some good talent but was never fully switched on and lazy at times. Had his best stretch when he played as the starting power forward next to Yao

No wonder Uncle Le$ was in financial trouble. He owed Cato $ 42M and Chuck Barkley $ 3M

Smart man to slowly ease off the scene

I don't remember specifics but he had a lot of blocks and they interviewed him after the game asking him what he thought of one day potentially challenging Dream's all time shot blocking record. That didn't work out.

Unlike Charles, Kelvin has ZERO beef with the Rockets organization.

Rumor has it he celebrates October 29th every year with a new children’s book!

Hey, @fromobile ... Tell your brother @CBrownFanClub he needs to start posting again since the Rockets are winning it all this year, and he can provide the Bay Area perspective for us. He still lives in SF, right?

We could pretty much pay the upcoming LeBron luxury tax if we could get Kato and Maloney to cough up their unearned $$$.

Clint Capella is the player Kelvin Cato should've been ... including the salary.

Man, that Kelvin Cato contract was one horrible contract.
At the time this contract was signed, I remember thinking, what the hell was Rudy T and Carroll Dawson thinking.

While the Rockets organization was always cordial and diplomatic in public when Rudy T left the organization, Rudy T didn't leave on the best of terms.
It may just be my imagination, but I always felt Les harbored ill will towards Rudy T after that contract.
I am hoping someone (@Clutch ? or another old timer ) can shed some more light on the relationship between Rudy T and Les Alexander at the end of Rudy's tenure.

The Kelvin Cato contract hamstrung the organization for years.
How we were able to include Cato in the trade for McGrady is beyond me and a true feat of magic.
Just to put in perspective how bad the Kelvin Cato contract was, his contract made the Ryan Anderson and Jeremy Lin contracts look like outright bargains.

I remember that preseason game. He was running the court, rebounding & blocking EVERYTHING that night. His energy was off the hinges. He was literally foaming at mouth (I mean literally) like a dog in heat, to the point Bill made a joke outta of it lol. Miss those Rocket days

He was diagnosed with rabies a few days later and the rest is history, so the legends say....
