    Black Moon

    Gang Star or Guru

    Brand Nubian

    Mobb Deep

    Ghetto Boys

    Tha Alkaholiks

    Eric Sermon

    DMX
    __________

IMHO these should not make the cut...

    Fabolous

    Redman

    Jadakiss

D 12 - there is just no way they should be in the running for GOAT esp. with Eminem already in solo.

D12's Devil's Night was one of the best Rap Albums in recent years, and I'd enjoy it without Eminem. There are many who consider Redman the top mc in the game, I don't think he's too great but he's got talent. Fabolous is probably lumped in too much with the poppy R&B type ****, but the dude can flat out rhyme. I Think I agree that Too Short, Gangstarr and Mobb Deep should be added (Maybe The Geto Boys but I already did include Scarface.)

NWA and Public Enemy are already on the list.

I believe to be included on the list the artist should have been around for while with at least 2 or more quality albums ~ they need to have some staying power.

We could create more room on the list by cutting some of the soloists and just include them with their group (i.e.) scarface (ghetto boys), method man/ gza (wu tang). mos def/ talib qwali (black star) etc...

My take on the overall list:
    ___________

    1) Eminem
    2) Jay-Z
    3) Nas
    4) Tupac
    5) Notorious B.I.G.

    16) Mos Def
    17) Talib Kweli
    18) Pharcyde
    19) Del The Funkee Homosapien
    20) Ludacris
    21) Wu-Tang Clan
