you mean like the way cuttino and say kareem rush shoot (also mullin) with the ball primarily being pushed by their left hand and off to their left side instead of in the middle of their body? i'm a lefty (and a good shooter) and don't shoot like that, but only because it takes me longer to get it off. if i'm just shooting around and struggling a little, i'll switch to cuttino style shooting and i always get better. i love shooting that way.
