My favorite album is PHYSICAL GRAFFITTI... disc one 1 - CUSTARD PIE 2 - THE ROVER 3 - IN MY TIME OF DYING 4 - HOUSES OF THE HOLLY 5 - TRAMPLED UNDER FOOT 6 - KASHMIR disc two 1 - IN THE LIGHT 2 - BRON-YR-AUR 3 - DOWN BY THE SEASIDE 4 - TEN YEARS GONE 5 - NIGHT FLIGHT 5 - THE WANTON SONG 6 - BOOGIE WITH STU 7 - BLACK COUNTRY WOMAN 9 - SICK AGAIN
Most of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs are on this album. Sick Again, In My Time of Dying, Ten Years Gone, The Rover, Custard Pie. Can't stand Kashmir (or Stairway to Heaven) though. Wasn't this album made from cuts that never made other albums (left overs)?
no physical graffiti was a studio album. you are thinking of CODA, released by Jimmy Page after Bonzo's death and the subsequent breakup of the band.
Speaking of Robert Johnson, has anybody heard his song Me and the Devil Blues. Some of the words are "Me and the devil was walkin' side by side....and I'm goin' to beat my woman til' I get satisfied." Good lyrics.
Damn. Led Zeppelin members face trial in 'Stairway to Heaven' copyright infringement lawsuit Read more here: http://www.fresnobee.com/news/nation-world/national/article71304342.html#storylink=cpy
I listened to both yesterday... it's one 3 chord guitar progression. I can't see any way they make a case. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gFHLO_2_THg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If I didn't know what this was about and just randomly heard that I'm pretty sure I would think that was some weird remix or cover of Stairway to Heaven. So weird.
its really just the intro. the rest of stairway bears no resemblance. if i remember correctly, the story is that zep was opening for spirit (or maybe other way around) and they heard spirit playing the tune and started riffing on it during soundchecks. and they clearly were a band who has no problem "borrowing" from other artists.
ever since the Blurred Lines and Stan Smith settlements, you have algorithms going through songs looking for similarities so lawyers can sue similar to patent trolling
But, isn't Jimmy Page on record as saying he had never seen Spirit play live or heard any of their music? I think what you are referring to is that both bands played the same festivals.
