It's even better when the stat is most likely made-up. The "three year" numbers on LeBron and Wade are nowhere to be found on ESPN.

Well, that depends on what you define 'clutch' as. In accordance with the topic at hand and the majority of the public's view, a clutch player is one that possess the ability to regularly perform at a relatively higher level than others in the waning seconds of a game. The statistics given were complied over a 3 year period. How then, using the accepted definition, can they be an inadequate representation of a players clutchness?

Having said that, I can see how 26 might sound like a small number, but that's because it was generated using this definition, which happens to be very strict criteria. I'm sure there were games won by Dwayne Wade (since we're referring to his percentage) over the past 3 years that fell just short of a certain category in this criteria thereby not counting in favor of his percentage.

For the record, I do not view 'clutch' by this definition whatsoever.

ESPN is not an authority on advanced statistics FYI

Yeah, but the person who keeps posting these stats says "courtesy of ESPN". Where? And if these numbers (specifically: LBJ and Wade's three years of clutchness ineptitude) are documented somewhere, I'd like to see the link. Not that I'm doubting it-- in a sample size that small anything is possible, but if we are going to debate something, we should at least have the information. And I wouldn't put it behind agenda-driven Kobe sycophants to make up stuff.

And I'm sure a lot of posters who didn't read that list of "clutch" shooters from the past three years would have been very quick to include the notorious choke artist Dirk Nowitzki on the list as well. Yet, he's at the top of the list for making game-winners.

If 26 is a statistically significant sample size, then how is Kobe Bryant not unclutch when his combined shooting in elimination games over the last three playoffs was 17/58 (29%)?

The numbers were shown during a pre-game show on TV. I haven't seen them on the website.

when you shoot and miss, but still win you are not "clutch".... but more important, you are not "un-clutch"

    Lebron shoots misses, and loses

then rips his jersey off and cries, and runs for Wade's butt.

So you're not un-clutch if your teammates can bail you out, but you are un-clutch if your teammates aren't good enough to bail you out?

i guess Lebron should have shot an air ball to Big Z, for him to put in? No skill at all what Artest did. He was just there.
