Even if LeBron struggles his first few games, it wont matter. He's still going to be a excellent player. Most of the Anti-LeBron sentiment comes from the guy getting all the attention (when Francis is not getting the same) with out "earning" the attention (by playing in the NBA and proving it). But, time will tell. Because LeBron will prove it. Just wait. Of course there will be many Anti-LeBron people just waiting for LeBron to have a bad game, and then say, "See, he sucks!" That's silly. And just plain envy. The guy is good. But I would not be such a fan of his game if all he did was go one-on-one. He takes pride in developing his shooting touch as well as making the great pass. He has a tremendous work ethic, and listens to his coaches. That's a well developed game, at such a young age. It HAS to be respected. He'll sure respect Francis the first time he plays him. But if Francis doesn't respect LeBron, Francis will get burned. Don't deny acknowledgment of talent just because you are jealous of it.
i don't think there is hate for lebron. but when some jack@ss comes in shootin off about how lebron will burn stevie in a game that has never been played, lebron is rightly taken to terms for the fact that at this point, he cannot compare to francis. i don't care about potential, truth be told, griffin has potential too, but i am talking nba experience. stevie's carrer averages so far are pretty damn good. and lebron is a nothing, he is a glimmer in the games future, and thats it. i don't doubt that he is talented, but i think anyone who starts talking about his greatness, let alone compare him to magic, jordan, or even t-mac, is not being realistic. he was an incredible highschool player. we shall see about the rest. by the way, regarding steve, i think we will see just how detrimental rudy-t's coaching style was to stevies' development as a pg. i predict big things under jvg.
I do too. And we'll see what we've been missing for over 10 years (an offense that actually involves the team). Something we haven't seen since Fitch and Harris. Let's just hope that Francis (and Mobley) buys into it.
LeBron would probably tool Steve one on one in the post, which is where LeBron would set up on offense of course. In the open court it's a wash, with a slight advantage to Steve in speed. I think Mobley or Posey would end up guarding James though..
To all who say they will take Lebron F*ck you and Lebron, the rockets dont need to wait for 2 to 3 years for some punk azz kid to mature get off his peice
this comes from the fool with the name tierre brown what a fu**ing joke. you and your tierre brown fan club!!
Not to say who's better, but SF got torched by virtually every player that guarded him, not the least of which is JR Bremer. And that was in a real NBA game where the game really counts and not in a clankfest involving inferior players. If you're gonna make a point, try not to screw yourself over.
Lebron has one thing better than Steve, 6'8", his size. For everything else, their skill sets are pretty similar or going to be similar. But 6'8" allows James to play 3 positions.
Ouch, I'm so hurt. I'm sorry I don't jump on the bandwagon of a f*cking 18 year old and praise him to become the next Magic, MJ, and Bird all rolled into one. I think Steve is better for the team right now: he showed that he can take a backseat sometimes to Yao; under JVG, he should learn that he'll have to do that more often. LeBron's coming in here on his own white horse trying to save the Cavs franchise. All white on draft night like the Messiah, though subtle, just shows how much this kid thinks of himself. He's not able to take a backseat to ANYone not named MJ. I just think Stevie's ego is A LOT smaller than King James. And who cares if my name is tierre_brown? I like those people who weren't given a chance and still made it to the NBA. Those people are the ones who weren't the most gifted athletically but worked hard enough to get into the NBA. I've always been a fan of the underdog Rockets: Scottie Brooks, Matt Bullard, Carl Herrera, etc. So I'm sorry if I'm a fan of "a joke." But honestly: I don't give a flying sh*t what you think.
Ok...I've read enough nonsense and it's time to give a little input. After reading all the posts on this thread one thing I've I know for sure is the EGN isn't necessarily a LeBron James fan. What EGN is simply saying is LeBron WILL school Steve Francis when the time comes. Steve Francis is an ego maniac that only plays for himself. The word TEAM is not in his vocabulary and it's apparent on the court. The Rockets need team players to be successful especially with the line-up the Lakers will have next year (with or without Kobe Bryant). Steve Francis is not a team player but rather a loose cannon, a freak on the court whose only out for his own numbers.
What exactly is your evidence that Steve Francis is out for his stats only? There's plenty of things people can point to that show the contrary. If you don't believe what comes out of his mouth, check the stats. His shot attempts went down during the 2nd half of the season. He averaged a little more than one less shot per game this season as opposed to last. How many ball hogs in the NBA only average 16 field goal attempts per game? You've read a lot of nonsense and then decided to add some more. EGN clearly said that he thinks LeBron will school Steve the first time they play.
tierre brown i see that you are hurt by my comment. but i still don't ever remember praising LJ. i think many on this thread took what i said and rolled with it. i never said he was the greatest player ever, i never compared him with the likes of nba greats, i just said he is better than steve. you would be a fool for not thinking so. plus i did think we should have kept tierre. he was alot better than maddox. thank god for yao! and jvg we have suffered long enough from rudy's inabilities
oski, i will type this for the second time before the break last season fiegen wrote and article in the chronicle where in which he was talking to steve after the word was around about how he was not a team player. fiegen confronted him in the article and asked him about this and steve was saying "i am a team player" and "i'm not all about my numbers". quote for quote! the very next game right before the half expired a member of the oposing team threw up a prayer half court shot. steve jumped and got a piece of the shot, which was right in front of the scorers table, as half expired. steve went directly over to the table to make sure they saw and recorded that block, which happened right before their eyes. this game was the very same night in which the article was printed earlier that day. as i saw this i thought in my head, what a punk b****. he had just pretty much finished his sentence about how "i'm not all about my numbers" only to make sure that he got his precious "NUMBERS"!!!!!!!!!
