I glad she feels the need to constantly explain why she was such an ass this summer, it only helps her case...
I agree with this. My essential point is, as you said, race "plays a part" (regardless of the size and multitude of complex factors that are the reason for it), and no one feels that 33% difference in opinion more acutely than Lebron. You really can't expect him to deny its existence. If you do, you're really just wanting him to play a PR game that he's shown no inclination for.
I was actually going to take in account to what you were saying but comparing the reaction to a murder trail and Lebron making a spectacle of himself on where he was going to play lost it for me. LOL
Sure, the fact that a smaller percentage of black people hate him (as opposed to white people) means it's harder for them to see past his skin color to what he really is.
Yes, it is, because he still thinks 90% of the population is just mad at him for switching. Whereas we're mad at him 'cause he's such a jackass.
I didn't. Read it again. I was comparing the ingnorance of many in understanding there is a divide between the two communities. That is all. Regardless of opinion as to why, at least you see why he would respond that yes, race plays a part. That's exactly what I'm saying.
I doubt that that's actually what Lebron is alluding to when he says "race plays a part," though. I kind of looked at it as though he was saying that he was the victim, and that white people were looking at him unfavorably because of his skin color...
sure there are people who judge by race, that will be going there, but you take all that aside, if he was white and he did the same thing ,he'd get grilled, he thinks its because he left cleveland, its the way he did it! its the fact that 2 years ago he started talking and hyping up 'july 1st, 2010', its taht during the playoffs him and his managers were negotiating the ower special when he is supposed to be only thinking of his team and the championship this guy is literally delusional, just like he thought he shouldn't congratulate and shake hands bc he is not a loser, its forgiveable that he didn't do it in emotions after the game, but then his explanation is what makes him such a punk that hes not going to congratulate someone who just beat him, so mj kobe and 50 years of professionals of the league were all losers? its that he says its a perfectly legal move after he did the crab dribble its that after a game he doesnt say it was a bad game he says he spoiled the fans wit hall his other good games its that he changes his number from 23 for respect for MJ bc he says he is a student of the history of the game, well apparently he didn't study bill russell who is arguably one of the greatest players when he changed his number to 6? this guy is the paris hilton of the NBA, just fake and can't take a hint, and continues to do that are there people who judge him with race? sure, there are people who judge him, kobe, kd everyone if thats a matter of race but the backlash this summer was bc of his actions, plain and simple, teh way he handeled himself was as classless as I have seen in a public figure and at that, those same fans he claimed he lost or had something do with race all grew on Kevin durant, who clearly is the same race, but just handles himself differently...keep kidding yourself lefraud.
Ok but the situations are totally different. And would you agree that race played a small part? If so then why would it even be discussed? Cause if it played 10 % race 90% douche move, why even try to make a case towards race.
Yes that could be the interpretation of the divide that he is making. I don't agree with it fully (of couse there are some that condemn him for racial reasons. Always will be.), but the real issue is people denying the fact that there is a divide, when what they really want to attack this allusion they believe LeBron is making that racism (specificall , white racism) is a driving factor in it's existence. Problem is, his exact words didn't commit to any opinion of the sort, just that race "plays a part," and a lot of people arguing against this factual statement should clarify that they are speaking to a conjecture of his words that they are making.
Race plays a part, but in this case, the only real race motivation is black people being supportive of him. If say Tom Brady did something similar, the blacks would be hating on him just as much as the whites.
I agree that race may play only a small part in the motivation for the divide, especially when you factor in socio-economics, but the fact that it works so starkly along racial lines, yet is largely ignored by the public, is very comparable to the OJ situation (and Michael Vick, for that matter). Lebron answered a question honestly. Perhaps that should be asked of the person that posed it (Soledad O'Brien). To tell you the truth, I thing it's sad when a simple discussion of a possible difference of opinion that works along racial lines is termed "playing the race card" and "making a case towards race." It makes us look so juvenile when it comes to this subject. We should be able to address these things instead of having to ignore them like the proverbial elephant.
Instead of blaming him for playing the race card, blame the racists that compel him to use it and the many others who choose to resort to very ugly, unnecessary personal attacks which from his perspective are hard to separate. If he wasn't deluged with that sort of stuff, maybe he wouldn't be so defensive.
Lebron, is that you? I see BSPN is still riding your nuts to please you and keep riding your gravy train.
Yes it's me. I would post a longer response, but I have tons of other forums to defend myself in. brb
You know, it's pretty simple. If he had just apologized for the manner in which he left Cleveland and admitted he did it in a douchebag manner this crap would all vanish. I personally don't blame him for going to Miami to win, but basically telling Cleveland to **** off is ridiculous. And please don't say he did it for charity or some other lame excuse, there are many other ways he could raise money and not be a douche at the same time.
Blaming racists for compelling LeBron's behavior is so ludicrous I can't believe someone like you would even go that direction. Take another look at what you just posted and think about it. LeBron isn't some newbie. We are talking about "King James". He's got 7 NBA seasons of hype and intense scrutiny behind him. Over that period of time (and even while in high school), he's received untold amounts of hateful communication along the way. This isn't something totally new. But I guess he (and his handlers) didn't see it in LeBron's interest to discuss it until now. I can't believe I actually applauded LeBron when he fired his agency and had Maverick Carter and the Homeboys take over his marketing and publicity. It looks like a tragic mistake now because nobody he listens to is willing to say the Emperor (or "King") has no clothes. LeBron started the whole mess because of the WAY he held everyone on a string for an extra week and then doing the 1-hour special. The consequences of HIS actions are that in addition to NBA fans concluding LeBron is a totally clueless, out-of-touch-with-reality, extreme prima-donna jerk, some racist trash comes out of the woodwork to vent. Blaming these racists for "compelling" additional dumb behavior from LeBron is nutty beyond belief IMO. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really can't believe you posted that durvasa. Folks, we have another new excuse card that can be played: The racists made me do it!
