Lebron is entitled to his opinions, but because of his public image will be magnified = thus everybody is entitled to their own opinion. However, in my opinion, he's obviously getting what he deserves. That scrubbish 1hour long "Decision" was a waste of Everyone's time. Although, I think he was only trying to get paid? Eh.. still scrubbish.
It was only a waste of your time if you decided to watch it. I switched the channel after a few minutes.
It's sort of ironic that the people who keep complaining about wasting their lives on The Decision have wasted another 3 months complaining about it.
No its more than a game, how u behave on the court equals to how u behave off the court and is used as a moral calculator.
He responded? No. He re-tweeted. He wanted to make the world aware that he had haters. Racial slurs are nothing new to society. I'm sure Kevin Garnett would get hammered with all kinds of things including racial slurs if he had a twitter account. He's acting like he shouldn't have haters... EVERY great player had haters.
Why would you want to re-tweet something other than to show off that you have haters? The point I'm trying to make is that every athlete has haters, but you don't see other athletes doing what LeBron is doing... and LeBron is probably the face of the NBA right now.
LeBron needs to hire someone like Morey, winning tweeting battles by smart wits, not childish moves like this. All these publicity disasters just show how unintelligent he and the people surrounding him are.
Plenty of athletes have re-tweeted hate tweets. People just didn't choose to make at thread about it like you did. Kevin Durant did it Brandon Jennings did it Michael Beasley did it Daniel Orton did it Only when LeBron does it do people make a big deal out of it.
I can't think of a player who's added as many haters in such a short period of time as LeBron. The spike in hate LeBron is receiving after this offseason is a big story. Its not like every other athlete. How many threads have been started in this offseason in the NBA Dish hating on other players compared to LeBron? He is becoming a huge lightning rod for criticism, and as someone who isn't accustomed to being the target of such venom he is reacting to it like a human being. So what?
For someone who should take pride in being the face of a sport, he should be model for the rest of the NBA. You don't see any of the greats do anything like this. Poor LeBron getting critisized in the NBA Dish....
Is retweeting that big of a deal? I still don't get what the big deal is. I'm sure the other greats were perfect in how they interacted with the fans though. Kevin Durant seems to be one of the great ones and he's responding to hate mail telling them to get Kobe's balls out of their mouth. No hate though none at all.
You don't get the difference between being imperfect and stupid? Nobody is asking for perfection but LeBron's behavior this offseason has been moronic at times.
I'm talking about this twitter thing. I don't see the big deal in re-tweeting what he did. Saying today is hater day was probably dumb but re-tweeting the hate he got isn't a big deal nor does it make him a diva. I just find it funny the reaction in this thread to what Bron did compared to the reaction in the Durant thread when he said this I can only imagine the response in a thread about LeBron if he did that.
The difference is LeBron knows there is an intense amount of hatred for him right now and that a backlash will occur. So going out of his way to invite more hatred by calling Tuesday, "Hater Day" and tweeting: Everyone please let them get their two minutes of fame and light! I love you Haters. Continue to make me proud of you guys! LOL! goes way beyond what Durant did. When Durant goes out of his way to bait hateful people, fans will turn on him also. When a person is under intense public scrutiny, they have to be more cautious than normal about what they say publicly. LeBron was very reckless to foment more hatred. Durant had good reason to believe his tweet wouldn't generate a backlash. Can you see the difference now? It isn't hard to understand at all. When a person (especially a major public figure) has some slack line, it's OK to be a little careless. But when you are aware you have no slack and do what LeBron did, it's beyond stupid, possibly entering diva and egomaniac territory. And don't give me the line that "all athletes" are egomaniacs the same way blah blah blah. As Durant gets older and more scrutinized, what he does and says will also get parsed and dissected. But LeBron invites it. I held him in the highest regard until he started yabbering two years ago about the Knicks instead of just shutting up about it like every other 2010 free agent. Maybe Dwyane Wade can influence him.
