    Goodness lol

Yes like that. Its very subtle. I guess cuz the player isnt making a definitive move to create space and is in a stationary spot they let it go. Picking up feet happens when players receive a pass in front the 3 point line, catch the ball thenhop back a couple steps without dribbling to get behind the line.

If the referees gave the stars like Lebron/Kobe/Wade special treatments like not calling the traveling then why did the international referees treat them with special treatment as well? Lebron, kobe etc have had participated in numerous international competitions why they were called for traveling using the same move? The only logical explanation will be these athletics are freak their moves were too damn fast for the referees to judge thus they were not called for the traveling.

Start the video at 2:19, its hilarious, Wafer takes like 1029013821 steps. Anyways, seeing this video made me sad because I really wish we could have brought Wafer back.

I had kind of forgotten about this thread.

Then I saw some highlights of the Cleveland VS Utah game. I can't find a link to the play, but with Cleveland down 83-85, Lebron misses a FT and gets the rebound. THEN, without dribbling he takes two steps back to move behind the 3 point line and makes the 3.

Some of you guys are talking about him getting away with traveling because he is so fast and fluid that it's hard to catch. But man...this one is so obvious...even an under 10's ref would have seen it. Why don't they just freaking call it!

Lots of players get away with stuff like that. LeBron has the ball in his hands so much more, and he's successful so much more, and the camera is on him so much more, so there's extra focus on him. But its not just a LeBron issue. Traveling in the NBA has been called loosely for a long time.

He didn't have control of the ball aka the ball was in the air so he can take as many steps as he wants, it's only when he picks it up does it start counting.

That's true. The "taking a step back behind the line" thing is pretty prevalent. IIRC Reggie Miller was notorious of doing that. But I have never seen as big a step as the one LeBron did last night. He took a giant step from inside the top of the key to behind the arc.
