Haha I'm not sure we'll see that. I'm not sure we'll see LeBron in a Rockets uniform. At least not in the near future. I think this "article" is dumb/silly if you will. I'm not sure if the guy is trying to be funny or what his objective is but...

Oh really? So do 29 other teams/GMs/coaches. Who or what GM/coach doesn't want LeBron

Yeah, it would totally suck to have Lebron over Aaron Brooks

I think that's actually different. A lot of people can't shake the rapist accusation. It's hard to like a rapist.

Its not that I don't want Lebron or Bosh on this team its just I don't want our team to lose its dignity in the process. Look at how foolish the Knicks look now, Cleveland is being held hostage, Miami is gonna have like 3 players on their team, and some of the fans here and everywhere are begging these guys to come to their city. Honestly I could careless about where these guys go they just don't have enough heart for the Rockets imho.

Never quoted a specific source on the Whiteside thing - this is a different guy who is MUCH more trustworthy. They did like Whiteside - they worked him out and apparently liked what they saw - but the guy I talked to exaggerated it quite a bit. That was a mistake on my part.

Firstly, I would never trust an outside source. NBA is a big drama stage and rumors are flying everywhere. Secondly, if this were true, we wouldn't have a chance in getting him nor do I think he would be a good fit. You need to look at the type of person we have. Much like the Spurs and Suns, we have working, team players, with emphasis on good character. Lebron James: hard working, immense talent, leader when he wants to be, and a sure way to mess up the locker room. For this reason, I think its too big of a risk. You get James, you risk alienating the rest of the team. That means even more seasons to rebuild which means no ring.

I do think the rockets have a good chance to land LBJ, and that will depend on the confidence that LBJ has in Yao's health.

The teams that have cap space, nets, knicks, bulls, & heats. Nets & Knicks are bad teams, I cannot see they would become a championship team in near future. For bulls, they are a good team, but I don't think LBJ wants to live in MJ's shadow. Outside of their Arena, it's MJ's statue! About heats, I don't think LBJ wants to play with Wade, especially in Wade's team.

Of course, LBJ could stay in cleveland. But, if LBJ decides to leave, the rockets would be a good choice. We have enough assets to make a S&T. Even after we give up some assets, we will still be a good team. If lbj joins us, we would be a contender instantly. Of course, that also depends on Yao's health. Plus, if he plays with Yao, he would be over Kobe to become the biggest backetball icon globally.

Bosh is "slightly" more realistic than LeBron :p

I am not knocking on your article or on your source :) Just trying to serve a dose of "stay rooted to the ground and not expect gold to fall from the sky". The board already went mad over the possibility of Bosh coming here, and, as you pointed out, it was already quite a long shot. LeBron coming here would be the equivalent of a sniper trying to snipe a ping pong ball at 1000 metres from a moving helicopter :p Imagine the riot it would cause here if we thought we had a "decent" chance of getting LeBron

Chris Bosh is probably a 900 metre shot :p

The great leader in sports that announced to you that: Texas was leavingthe big 12 for the PAC-16, Yao's foot was fine, Trevor Ariza will sign with the cavs, Ron Artest will sign with the Cavs, and most notably the US will win the world cup. Thank you ESPN, for what I'm not sure...

No big named superstar player is going to want to come to Houston because of Yao's tenative situation.

For everyone who doesn't want Lebron, it's worth pointing out that he could be used as a trading chip. Then Morey would be able to get... anything. There may be a trade clause or something after a S&T deal, but at some point in time, he would be worth absolutely anything we wanted. I say go for it whether you like him or not.

Lebron James would be awesome as a Rocket and while we may not offer the tinsel of NY, the sex appeal of Miami or the attempt to chase a legacy in Chicago; we do offer the following:

    - A competitive team with a deep bench. Depending on what we had to give in a SnT, we'd still probably offer a more solid team foundation then the big 3 (w/ CHI being #2). We have 2 solid PGs, very complimentary 2s/3s, a solid rotation of 4's and a super star 5 (when healthy). I also believe J. Hill see significant minutes at 5 this year and will be more than serviceable. Lebron wouldn't have to carry the team and could use plethora of shooters/inside players to enhance his own game.

    - A great coach, w/ a sound offensive system and defensive approach. Lebron would flourish under Aldeman and raise his game to a greater level.

    - A great GM and Owner...an excellent management team cannot be under emphasized for a player of LBJ's stature. He can see that Morey and Les will do what ever is necessary to make the Rocks competitive for a championship.

    - A supreme challenge--conquer the West. If Lebron's Rockets can knock off the Lakers and Kobe he can become the top player on the best team.

    - More money than he can imagine! Deals in China, as he and Yao become global basketball icons on the same team. No state income tax and lower cost of living in Hou--maybe minor points when you make that much, but its all part of the package.

I think we can make a compelling pitch to LBJ and if his decision is really about basketball, then I think we're in the top couple of teams. In addition, by doing a SnT w/ us, he ensures CLEV gets some value and isn't left hanging (which would crush his loyal fan base there).

    In DM I trust!

Not that it counts for a whole lot, but Bosh did tweet something about Houston a month or so ago. So maybe it's not much, but it's something.
