This is just an obligatory test the water move by the Rockets. Heck, EVERY GM in the league will try their best to acquire LeBron James one way or another. If they aren't trying, they aren't doing their job and should be fired straight away. Just because the Rockets are trying hard doesn't mean they have a chance.... (please, no Jim Carrey references). Best to concentrate on more realistic stuff.... like Chris Bosh
People have way too high expectations of professional athletes. If you held your friends to the same standards you hold LBJ, magnifying every defect of character and expecting some kind of saint, you wouldn't have any friends. So LBJ doesn't have some kind of obsessive competitiveness that drives Jordan/Kobe. If you haven't noticed, those guys are kind of jerks. Despite playing with subpar teammates and a subpar coach and a subpar front office, LBJ hasn't complained a peep. Billions of dollars are dependent on him, a kid in his early twenties, and he hasn't slipped up once. The worst thing you can come up with is that he has "an ego problem". Really? Considering the praise and money that has been thrown at him since he was a teenager, I'd say he's done a pretty good job keeping his ego in check. I wonder how you or I would manage in a similar situation. LBJ would be great for the Rockets, we wouldn't expect him to carry a team by himself like Cleveland did (clear everyone out and give it to Lebron at the top!). Even Kobe couldn't do that.
There are PG's all over the place......if all we are trying to figure out is who the back up PG will be, I see us coming out ahead in that deal. Possible Replacements?? Raymond Felton Nate Robinson Steve Blake Luke Ridnour CJ Watson Carlos Arroyo
well put. plus, if my supporting cast was mo williams, sasha pavlovic, and 2 prehistoric centers, i wouldn't have the best attitude towards my team either. it'd be hard to imagine lebron not liking our supporting cast. for those saying "well uuuh they tried hard to get the 4th pick" or "they're trying hard to get bosh, etc".. what would you rather hear? "daryl morey is completely uninterested in acquiring lebron james. maybe he'll make a call, maybe.." SO, just be happy with such news.
Very true.....good post. If by some miraculous chance it happens, not one person on this board would be complaining about it. And if they did......fanhood questions would have to be raised immediately.
That's hhe NBA star driven, it makes me sick. We already had that high profile guy(McGrady). We need someone who is a star and understands this Yao's team. Also understand that no one piece is bigger than the whole. I'm not saying Lebron would be big ego. But with all the media hoopla I think things could get divided in the locker room. Lebrons a good guy but he does have big ego.
In the begining I was rooting for him, the hometown kid. As the antics started, the poses, the dances, I began to get irritated. When the arrogance arrived with not shaking hands, the MJ number thing, he lost my fan hood. After this Summit crap, I downright hate him and want him to fail.
I actually love this summit thing. He says he doesn't want to be wooed by cities. That they want to keep this a strictly basketball decision. What's not to love about that?
Hey Morey, Lebron has several things that appeal to him. 1.he wants to copy MJ,he even eats at MJs resturants and changed his number for a possible signing with Bulls 2.he can own Russian through business deals with Proporov under the table ,after he signs with Brook Lopez/Favors/Harris/Yi Jainlian 3.on the knicks he can be the king of NY,and NY is the capital of the world imo basketball wise 4.if all else fails, he can party on south beach with wade every night 5.oh yeah, he still loves Cleveland forever and ever 6.go after Wade not Lebron. I hear Riley still likes Yao,and Wade may want to leave since Miami has nothing. If you get Bosh, you may be able to woo Wade also (brooks/martin trade or yao straight up) Thank you.
lebron has been to the finals, with a bunch of chumps. mcgrady, well.. you know where im going with this one. this is no longer yao's team. well, it may be now, but hopefully not after july 1st.
I write for The Dream Shake. I think all of us over there are registered here, but as far as I know, I'm the only one who posts.
wade is more out of the question than any other free agent.. he's going back to miami, and even if he were obtainable, we already have martin. let's look for a forward instead. maybe a PG, a la chris paul..
Whatever..... The minute he dons the Rockets uniform you would be stocking up with baby powder and throwing a handful up in the air as a daily ritual......
I've never got any indication that his teammates didnt love playing with him he is probably the most unselfish superstar I have seen. I never heard him throw his teammates under the bus about anything. These guys are professional and understand that media is going to do what it does. The media would only effect young players but with Rick Adelman being around longer than all of us he should know how to handle it. Besides we get no love from the media I wouldnt mind more coverage.
The people saying no way to Lebron sound like the same people a couple years back that said no way to the Tmac for Kobe rumor.
Well not really, at least not how the media perceives it. The last two roxs championships had an * beside it cause jordan was not in the league. Then the one IF we win with Lebron would also be written as having the KING on the team, who wouldn't win. Anyway, would still love to have LBJ on the team. Really dislike the guys, especially his antics and all the media hype when he have not won anything. But have to admire his on court abilities, the guy is a beast.
it would be having the KING on the team.. and if we won because of bosh, it would be having bosh on the team.. point is, team cant win it now as it is. we need our own "pau"
