Has he actually been measured? He probably would look bigger outside of the NBA.

If your son would become the next Jordan there would be no one else to compare him to

T-Mac for me, by a mile. We know he is clutch: he has already bailed us out of trouble many times.

If LeBron ever scores 13 points in the last 35 seconds of a close game, I will be really impressed. Maybe he will do that some day. Right now though, I have no idea how he will respond when the pressure is on.

    T-Mac.

I think it would have been somewhat traitorous to say "Jordan over Hakeem" as a hardcore Rocket fan.

Just like that, as a hardcore Rocket fan, I say T-MAC.

Who cares if TMac is a Rocket. This thread has nothing to do with that.

I Love T-Mac more because he is our Rocket.

    But,
    LeBron 3pt% last year - .290
LeBron 3pt% this year - .336 and he's on pace to take more 3pt shots than last year

So whoever said LeBron shoots 49% only because he takes layups is totally wrong.

Besides, isn't that a good thing? I mean, if he can consistently get inside and score (which he can), in addition to shooting from outside...I mean what's wrong with that. Whether it's T-Mac's back, or lack of willingness, many here agree that he shoots too many jumpers...and thus

    T-Mac from the floor - 42.1%
    T-Mac from the 3 - 33.3%

    LeBron also averages 2.33 steals

    Look, T-Mac Rocks, is having a great year...improving as a Rocket..etc.

But, LeBron is a 20 yr old 2nd player 6'8", 240 lbs beast who by the numbers shoots better than T-Mac, creates better than T-Mac, rebounds better than T-Mac....
maybe if T-Mac was Cav, he might have LeBron's numbers...but in my honest opinion,

all the indicators show LeBron if not already now, will soon become the best player in basketball hands down.

There's no freaking way LJ is 6'10". He looked about the same height as T-Mac when they stand together on the court.

Of course he is still listed at 6'8 for now. Maybe it will change after this year but i am sure if he was 6'10" now that would be a big topic of discussion between commentators and things when they played on national TV.

I remember when KG came into the game i believe he was like 6'9" then grew to about 6'11"' or 7 ' or so if i am not mistaken

I think you make the best argument. T-Mac will always be a better scorer, he's probably the best scorer in the league. But just look at the impact Lebron is having on the Cavaliers. Hello, this is the Cavaliers.

As far as the killer instinct argument is concerned, Lebron gets the edge because of his ability to take the ball to the basket and finish. That's huge in late game situations, and honestly that is T-Mac's one offensive flaw.

so basically people are picking the right answer lebron or just saying tmac because he's on the rockets and you have to pick him if you're a rockets fan. it's not like it's an insult to choose lebron. lebron would be chosen over everyone. he's just ridiculous.

this whole he'll be kobe (as if that's worse than tmac) i don't get. if you mean he'll win 3 titles, maybe. if you mean that kobe's selfish and lebron will become selfish, it seems kind of ridiculous to say that considering being unselfish is one thing he's lauded for over and over. lebron is the complete package.

as for 13 points in 35 seconds. look, it was incredible, a once in a lifetime thing. but it doesn't mean anything in the overall scheme of things b/c it's not like a skill we can count on seeing again. like the kid who hit that 90 footer with 0.6 seconds left. is he a better player than lebron too since we're not sure what lebron would do there?

I love T-Mac and would never want to trade him for another guard... unless his name happens to be Lebron James. LeBron is doing what no other player ever as at his age. He is better than Michael Jordan was at age 20, and MJ was the best there ever was - least for now. LeBron could go down as the best ever.

    I'd choose LeBron James.

If everyone was saying it, can you provide one source/documentation?

If I'm starting a franchise, I take LeBron. If I'm playing fantasy basketball, I take LeBron. If I'm playing one season, starting today, I take TMac.

I would argue LeBron has better teammates around him. Ilgauskas comes pretty close to replicating Yao's production. Outside him, LeBron has a pair of guys scoring around 15 a game in McInnis and Gooden (who is also getting nearly 10 boards a game). Compare that to our next two best in Sura and Wesley.

Still, the Cavs play in a weaker conference, and the Rockets have actually overtaken them record wise.

This is a cavalier. And I ask you, who wouldn't want to be one, those guys get all the women.

Oh, and I would take Lebron in a heartbeat.

I've already mentioned it in this thread, but I agree. If we're playing one season, starting today, I believe most GMs would take T-mac. T-mac has had many more years to hone his game.

    Stop daydreaming.

TMac is a Rocket and will be a Rocket for a long time. Lebron James will always be a Cavalier.

As for who is better? Of course TMac is better. We have a better record than the Cavs in a tougher conference with much less talent (yes I said that). Isn't that enough?

It's not Lebron James's time yet. In terms of maturity and experience, he's not ready.

His play is great! It reminds me of the days when young 20-somethings could come into the league and immediately make an impact: Like Magic at 20. Or Jordan at 21.

But I think that LB situation is different than Magic's (1st year title) and more along the lines of Jordan (7th year title). His team is not ready and he has yet to experince the play-offs, much less an NCCA final Four. So, I'm not sure he'll be ready for a while.

TMac's time is NOW (and for the next 4-5 years). So, LJ will have his shot. But not before TMac does. TMac has matured a lot since he came into the league. And he's only 25 years old. Plus, TMac has a great teammate to help him out (Yao).

    Hakeem was 6'10 3/4 (w/very long arms).

    TMac is 6'8"

    Carmelo Anthony is 6'8"

    LeBron James is NOT 6'10"

He might be a tad over 6'8" (6'8 3/4?) All you have to do is LOOK at him on the court next to others.

    Excuse me?

I believe this is a ROCKETS web site. We are in the ROCKETS forum and people are comparing a Cavalier to a Rocket. If this thread as nothing to do with the Rockets then its in the wrong forum.

If being a Rocket means so little to you then go be a Cavs/Lebron fan... maybe you already are.

If there are no camera tricks in that second pic, it shows that Lebron is about 1 or 2 inches taller than Carmelo.
