You're really going to bring this game up? I can't remember the last time that LeBron has gone for a game winning 3 and I watch 30 Cavs games a year.
This is NBA. Hero or Loser. If he made it then he was hero and will be on the front page of all major sports news. He missed it then he deserves to be flamed, be it Lebron or kobe or T-mac!
Jordan had some character issues and attitudes I didn't prefer, but you could never question his talent and his will for a team victory was greater than his personal flaws. Didn't like him, but gotta respect him. Lebron has also at least won some playoff games, even lead his team to the finals. His team BB game is also spectacular. In terms of character, his NY t-shirt thing rubbed me the wrong way, but other than that seems OK. Gotta respect him, mostly like him. (I didn't at first--he earned it). Kobe hasn't lead his team out of the 1st round (same crit I would lay on TMac--whose character I like), and on top has Jordan's worst qualities x 10. Arrogant as hell, blew up the best team he will ever play for because his ego was greater than his will to be on the best team he could be, philanderer at best/possible rapist, etc. His talent and individual skills are off the charts (though let's not say Jordan's level), but no don't like him nor personally respect him. Now TMac I can respect his leadership/competitive spirit to the level of Jordan or Lebron, but seems likable and tries to be a team player. My perspective anyway.
T-mac is clutch, he would have had made that shot with his eyes closed. No idea to talk about a miss.
How about the finals last year? (the guy who made the video is kind of annoying) <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1Q9KJA6ONws&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1Q9KJA6ONws&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Or this: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nfurCV1FDpM&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nfurCV1FDpM&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Maybe so, but don't use that shot as an example of LeBron shooting a fadeaway 3 when he had other options. There were down 3 with like 3 seconds left, he had no other choice.
The shot in question <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fdcFpnZ0Ht0&rel=0&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fdcFpnZ0Ht0&rel=0&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> I guarantee his first 3 years with the Rockets McGrady would have taken that same exact shot 2 times out of 3, maybe 3 out of 4. Pull-up 3's instead of driving was/is McGrady's signature move. If it was Gilbert Arenas or Michael Redd it'd be acceptable. Lebron doesnt take many of those shots which is why it might stand out more. I've heard an unofficial rule of go for the tie at home/go for the win on the road or possibly the other way around, but the validity of that I'm not certain of...
Thats not really a bad shot. Kobe took a fadeaway at the 45 degree angle near the 3 point line with 2 kings defender on him not long ago.
This is exactly what I was trying to say when fans were doging T-Mac for not taking it to the rim in the final moments. Lebron, Kobe, T-mac, they all have a tendency to launch long range threes or jumpshots in clutch moments. This isn't the first time Lebron threw up a bad three late in the game.
