and you care about this because? it's a nickname he had since high school, when he did win something. and it has stuck. so let it go.
Yea he's a beast. But so is Wade (who I feels better), Carmelo, and deron Williams. None of which have been dunked on by highschoolers I might add.
LOL I'm a Kobe hater? You can ask anyone on here (Durvas specifically) and they'll tell you I've defended Kobe the most on this board so you can take your ignorant ass to the "search" function and learn something.
Him "mailing it in" is ridiculously idiotic and ignorant to say. I watched that same game and thats not true. Don't believe everything Charles Barkley says
I got to admit Lebron is really hurting himself by trying to play into his brand a little too much. He's going to annoy a lot of folks if he continues this diva act. You hear a lot of sports media personalities pick on him for this, it'll trickle down to his fans eventually if he doesn't control this act.
That's not true? Since you watched that game, care to explain to me why Kobe only took 3 shots in the 2nd half of that game? Don't remember that? NBA.com I'm going to wait for you to say "well he took 35 shots in game 6 and they lost in OT so it makes sense for him to try and defer to his teammates in game 7".
Lol, NBA.com does like to put a nice spin on it for their players though. They do push their products. If you watched the game you'd realized Kobe almost refused to take a shot and stood out at the perimeter and just recklessly through it in to either Pau or Bynum the whole 2nd half. If he was being effective he woulda finished the game with quite a few assists. There is much more to a game than the stat sheet. it was his attitude on the court that was terrible not his stat sheet.
I used an NBA link because the OP can't say that I'm using biased sources or writers. Even NBA.com was questioning Kobe's actions. And Gasol wasn't on that team, btw. I just wanted to point that out before the OP thinks that I don't know what I'm talking about. Bryant refused to take shots in that game and every knows it. All those excuses about getting more team work and getting his teammates involved? Bull****. Kobe was trying to prove a point and that point was that, if he don't get his way, he won't do anything to help the cause.
What point? His team was down 15 points when he got 23 in the first half. Sure he could shoot his way to 46 and lose by 30, and what'd be different? He'll be labeled as selfish nonetheless. The truth was that that Lakers played no defense. Last year when Cavs cannot stop Howard, they're beaten down, couldn't even last 7 games against an underdog. A No.7 seed took No.2 seed to 7 games and Kobe had to weather all the blames. A No.1 seed was one shot away from getting swept by No.3 seed and LeBron got a free pass because his teammates didn't play well. What a double standard!
wade gets plenty of highlights as well, but carmelo and dwill dont get that many dunks, much less some of the sick blocks thats james gets on a nightly basis. in fact id say a fourth of lebrons highlights are blocks, a fourth leaning 3 pointers and half dunks.
So you're telling me that since Kobe's team was down by 15 in the first half after he scored 23 points in the first half, that him scoring 46 points would mean that the Lakers would then lose by 30? If you're a bookie, please give me your contact information because I'd like to do business with you.
You don't get it. Because James got dunked on by a high schooler, he's more inferior than Wade, Melo, and Williams. I, mean c'mon man, it's not rocket science!
They may be losing by 40 or 20 but they won't win the game by repeating the way they played first half, that's for sure. They needed to D up. And Kobe can't do that alone. Anyway, the history is written by winners. MJ was 1-9 in playoff without Pippen and I don't think that's brought up by media very often. Kobe had 4 rings and I don't see how losing to the favorite Suns is a big deal.
So you're turning my point about Kobe mailing it in into a soapbox for how Jordan needed Pippen? You don't see how losing to the Suns is a big deal? The Lakers had a 3-1 lead and choked away 3 straight. I think it's a big effin deal. Would you want your favorite team play in a Game 7 of any round, only to watch your best player blatantly mailing it in just because his supporting cast is ****ty? Is that a sign of a good leader? If anything, this could be considered as one of the starting catalysts that led to Kobe putting Bynum on blast the next year, which led to the Lakers getting Gasol and of course that led to their championship. Saying that losing a Game 7 and choking away a 3-1 lead is not a big deal.
Sooooo.. what happens if/when Lebron wins a title this year? What will the haters say next? That obviously he had a superior team around him, and that he's supposed to win?
Everybody knows it? A birdie must've came to your window at night and told you what was going on in Kobe's head that nite Your opinion is based on your personal negative perception of Kobe, which is why i think alot of fans overhype Lebron strictly off hatred for Kobe. But until Lebron wins a ring he'll always be 2nd place in my opinion
