Let's be completely fair here. At 26 Jordan didn't have a ring. In fact, he didn't win his first ring until he was 28. Don't get me wrong, I am not on team LeQuit, but let's be fair when we make fun of him...
You can't compare seasons. LeBron came straight out of high school. He got a head start on Jordan. Compare ages, because with age comes maturity and experience.
but isn't an NBA players window of opportunity to win a championship is limited by the number of years he's been playing pro ball and not his age?
Are you telling me that him starting early doesn't buy him a season or two more in the league than Jordan had? Let me explain. If a player who starts when he is 21/22 he's expected to play let's say 14 seasons. If player starts at 18 isn't it fair to say he'll play more in the realm of 16-18 seasons. That means a player who starts at 18 will have 2-4 more seasons in his career than a player who starts at 21. Jordan started at 21 and played 14 seasons. He retired officially at age 40. Let's say Bronny retires at age 38. This will mean Bronny will play 20 seasons to Jordan's 14. Heck, if you throw in Jordan's baseball year and the spell between 98-01 that puts Jordan at 18 seasons. Even if LeBron retires 2 years younger than Jordan did he still has two more seasons in the league than Jordan did. This means don't compare Bronny to 8th season Jordan, compare him to 6th season Jordan. In his 6th, Jordan didn't have a ring.
You can't tell me that him starting early doesn't expand his window of opportunity by at least a season or two.
KG is 35. I could easily see him play 2-4 more seasons. That puts him at 18-20 seasons. KB24 is 33. Kobe could easily play 5+ more seasons. That puts him at 20+ seasons. Jordan had 14. 14! Even with the breaks eliminated he's still 2 seasons behind KB24 and possibly toe to toe with KG. This shows that players can easily expand the window by a season or two by coming into the league early.
Are you saying you get more experience in college and the NBA? Rocket River 2 yrs Reading a book about computers doesn't compare to 1 year working on computers.
It's not just the experience that LeBron needs, it's maturity. A maturity that only comes with loss and age.
