hmm trade tmac over the summer for some qaulity players or keep him and let him leave come 2010 to open up cap space for lebron.....dang it! Should we go all in before the flop or wait until the river to push our chips in?
Lebron wants to be the first player to reach $1 billion mark. U really think he care about championship right now?? Hes young n wants to get paid. Not happening with the Rockets.
i don't think the rockets are as global as the knicks or LA, brand wise. except maybe in china? doesn't he want to play for a global icon team? knicks, LA, manchester united (yes i know they're soccer - but for comparisons sake), etc.
Sure we'd love Lebron james. Name a team that wouldn't? Heck I also want Megan Fox as my wife but that isn't happening.
Soooo not true! Dude do you really think he woulda stormed off the court the way he did cause he just lost his chance at a billion dollas, NO! It's cause they were the best in the league all season and now are elminated from getting a ring! He's a competitor just like MJ was and he wants the gold son!!!
But the knicks have nothing but scrub players. He might as well stay in cleveland. Here he can have tmac's 21 mil of the rockets cap space, china endorsement, and play with a group of guys who will give you 110% effort when it counts.
Don't make the stupid post. The only thing that can attract LBJ is good players and better chance for champion. If Yao is not here, his chance to get a champion will be diminished. He will be dominated again by the good centers.
We didn't take Lakers to 7 without yao,ok? We take lakers to 1-0 with a healthy yao, and we are 2-3 without yao. Game2 yao was actually injured before halftime, so it's nothing to draw any conclusion on.
Lebron will be a good fit for all the teams however the chances of him landing in Houston is very slim.
I don't think so. I cannot count any other teams that can give a him a better chance for champion. We have all what a championship team must have except for a good wing players. LBJ is going to be the last piece, largest piece though, for a champion. NY is a big city, but Knicks is a scrub team. Knicks coach is a good coach, but does not play defense. Knicks is hopeless team for champion. As the best player in the league, I will be very disappointed if LBJ chooses to go to NY.
Just out curiousity since everyone is passing the pipe right now. Let's say a team signed Lebron to a one year contract for like MLE and then decided to extend his contract next summer to 5 years maximum salary. Example the Knicks the most logical fit here get Lebron on the cheap for one year and still have ton of cap room to go out and get Chris Bosh and some other pieces around Lebron. This make sense because the one year salary reduction is offset from the HUGE endorsement increase in a market like NY. Plus Lebron gets a team that is stacked with talent and Knicks arent afraid to pay luxury tax for year 2 and beyond. Imagine a team with Lebron and 2-3 All Stars around him. Now is this type scenario legal under NBA rules?
Who said anything about TMAC still being here, its assumed the only way we get someone is with tmacs contract
I was listening to Jim Rome on ESPN and he had two analysts on and one of them said Orlando and Houston would have cap room in 2010 and those might be 2 teams that LBJ might consider going to because he would have a chance to win there. The guy wants to win more than anything, just look at his reaction after the Cavs lost to the Magic. I doubt he goes to the Knicks, no matter how much they court him, they need to turn around that team before Lebron would ever think of going there. If we can keep Yao and he is dominant next season, drop TMac, keep the core guys like Scola, Battier, Hayes, Artest, Brooks then we have as good a chance as anybody to sigh Lebron. Couple that with his ambitions in the Chinese market and the chance to play with Yao, Morey might be able to talk him into coming to Houston.
No way. Until he recognizes he's not a winner in games where the opponent's team has more points, I don't want him here. No way. Until he stays on the court to congratulate someone who beats him and show some sportmanship, I don't want him here.
The Rockets are like 12 million dollars over the cap, letting McGrady and others contracts expire won't give us the payroll flexibility to sign James even if he wanted to come here. We'd have to trade for him and get his bird rights. Would Cleveland make a trade just for McGrady's expiring contract when they already have LeBron and Wallace coming off the books with their big contracts after next season? No, of course not. Its not going to happen.
